Yes it is true. I have about 600 miles on the CR and with the warmer than usual weather I noticed the gas drip.
It's not so bad. I park it outside the garage until it's decided it leaked enough blood then I push it in and all is good.
Planning on doing the oil change this weekend where it can put some oil on the ground.

Watch out for the swingarm. My R stained it from the gas drip.

After I saw that I put in the evap canister and no more drip.

1 week of antibiotics should clear that smelly drip right up.

Is that canister easy to install? I have some mechanical ability and I can usually follow directions. Where abouts does it go?

(there's probably a thread about this somewhere, isn't there? )

Yes there is a thread somewhere.
The only hard part about the install was the hook up to the throttle bodies.

Basically you take the hose from the fuel tank and plug it into the evap can which sits under the seat.
Then you run a hose from the can up to the throttle bodies.

I have heard HD is doing the install as warranty. so you may give them a call.

They did my 49-state bike Cali Can install as warranty, but only after I called H-D directly to explain the problem and get an authorization number. First time I've ever added an 'emissions' device to a vehicle ... Very happy I did!

Not sure which is worse, the smelly drip or the crusty puck.

Doctors say they are unrelated but riding hard and putting it away wet seems to lead to both.

Just sayin
