Anyone using pirelli angel st's? I was wondering if they still gave as much grip in the twisties as the stock tires.

I am using the Angel ST rear and a Rosso front tire, so far the Angel ST has been great. I have about 500 Twisty Miles on it, and it has been extremely stable and smooth even when pushed hard. On the other hand it does take a few miles to warm up. I would say that if you are going to be scrapping knee all day go with something softer like the Rosso, or Corsa III, but for a nice mix of roads I would go with the Angel ST rear, not so sure of the ST front tire, I would rather have something softer with the same design for the front.

Interesting that you think the Angel ST takes a few miles to warm up. I've found te stock Corsa III to the worst low-temp tire and the slowest tire to warm up I've ever had on a bike. (When its hot, its great!) I'm curious if the slow warm up is a Pirelli thing.

I replaced the stock Corsa III's with a set of Angel ST's about 2000mi ago. So far, so good. I have not had them on the track yet, but they were good in the mountains and have been fine for commuting work too. They roll nicely and the profile seems to suit the 1125 well.

That's interesting, because I always felt the corsa III's were slow to warm up too, but performed well once they were warm.

Thanks tyrroneous, the kind of riding you do seems about like me. I mostly just ride the mountains (alps, eh, stationed in Italy) and commute back and forth to work. I have about 1/2" chick strips on either side of the tires i have now. Does that sound like about how hard you ride?}

My Angel STs seem to stick great when cold, even on wet roads.

Got em on both my CR and R.

Very happy with them.

ST tires shouldn't need as much warm up as a sport/track tire. At STREET operating temps most modern ST will provide plenty of grip, even when dragging the occasional knee.

I have them on front and rear. Great wear (so far 1200 miles) on straight FL roads. They grip well in the rain. Confidence inspiring.
