I was cruising down the 91 Freeway westbound here in Cali. in the fast track probably around 85 with a Suzuki ahead of me going probably 90. I look in my mirrors and see a BMW Police Cruiser coming up fast so I slow down a bit move over to the far left and he comes up beside me and gives me the two fingers and off he went. I was like thats a cool cop. Now I was curious about the GSXR ahead because he was really moving. The cop did nothing they tandum all the way. Most of the time when a cop pulls beside me they let me know to slow down with the hand wave up to down. Then they speed off. Once in awhile I get cop like that.

Anybody else get a cool cop that doesnt enforce their power trip?

Sometimes on the side of the road, but never like that.

Not on my bike, but a few times in my truck. Once with a quick flip of the lights and the hand gesture once he was beside me. Another time I moved over for one and he motioned to roll my window down. He yelled over, "I'd hate to see you on the news tonight. Slow down!". I thought both occasions were cool.

Heading to work one morning through the neighborhoods to the gas station. As I get off the bike to fuel up, I notice a squad car behind me in the lot, lights flashing, etc. - Busted, but not sure why.

So I got pulled for running three stop signs (in a row). Actually rolling stops, but no foot down. After running my plates and license, and noticing the snow on my roof, cop asks if I know what a stop sign is - I say "I think so". Then he asks what they are for - I say "for stopping?". I then explain that I proceeded through the stops in a safe and expedient manner after checking the intersections for traffic.

He then tells me that he is on the local motor patrol. I now know I'm not going to get a ticket. A short lecture about traffic regs and he's done with me. I think being a little older than he expected, and riding the XB helped out. We chat for a minute or two and now I'm on first name basis with one of (MY CITY's) finest. I'm cool with that.

no, i live up in the country and even up there the cops are still mean. Me and me bro were riding a couple dirt bikes on a side street that my neighbor paid for, it wasn't even a county road, and it was not a through street. The sheriff drives by, and then once he gets about 100 feet past us, he slams on the brakes, throws it in reverse, squeals the tires, and turns on his lights. He came up and asked us what we were doing, i said we are just riding dirtbikes sir. He told me that it is illegal to ride those here. I said its my neighbors road, and i have permission. He said he does not care, and we have to leave, or else.
Cops around here just love to hide and nail people, it sucks.

freezerburn840,
where are you at?
I noticed you said the 91, i am going to cal poly pomona. I take the 91 all the time, and i have never seen a cop on it.

In between the 15 and the 55. Going westbound in the fast track. I see motorcycle cops all the time some cool some not. This guy this morning was cool flying by me. Well I am up early I am usually hitting that stretch at 6:00 a.m. to 6:15 a.m. Then going eastbound later in the day I hit the 91 fwy from the 710 at 4:15pm then I hit the fast track around 4:45 p.m. I've met up with Captain America a few times he's in Riverside I am in Murrieta.

Got to love my 160 mile a day commute.

My buddy and I got pulled over by a bike cop. We were going 75-80 in the fast lane and passing cars when we came up on them.

He went straight into righting us both tickets without even talking to us. Wrote an estimated speed of 90+ on the tickets then went on lecturing me on how to properly break in a new bike.

"You can either obey all the rev limits and break it in right, or you can drive it like you stole it like you were doing. Personally I prefer to drive it like I stole it" -Officer Hedgecock

The only reason I did stop, considering I had dealer plates, is because I was breaking in the engine...

I've been stopped twice. Once in a speed trap in town here (Plano), after I 'briskly' sped away from a stop light. When I took off the helmet, the cop was amazed at a 64 year old man on the red sport bike. After checking the license and insurance, he advised me to do my hot rodding out in the country.
Second time, I heard a "whoop" as I parked in my driveway. Same scenario. Seems I blew a stop sign and he followed me home. Good thing he didn't notice that I had my left turn signal on the whole time. Apparently he was a way back. Again, he was surprised at the geezer on the kids bike. No ticket. :-)

Sounds like the opening scene of Super Troopers.

Daniii - that's one of the few things I like about getting older. The snow on the roof pushes us out of the "profile". Seems to be the case with TSA and US Customs, too. I get hassled a lot less than I did, say, 20 plus years ago.

Not to hijack, but it has been my observation that the motor patrol guys seem to have a better attitude than the cage patrol guys - or is it just me?

I was riding out I-16 in Ga a couple of years ago, this tractor trailer got to screwing with me. I was running about 75 in a 70, he'd pass me then start checking up. I'd go around him again, he'd do it again. The only other car in sight is a pair of headlights probably a mile behind us.

I-16 is known for their speed traps so I waited for a long open stretch so I could watch out for the law. Here comes the stretch, I open it up to around 100, put about a mile on him then dropped it back to 75.

A couple of minutes later here come those headlights, and now I can see a light bar. Damn, he's going to flip that bar on and drill me for a $1000 ticket.

He got beside me, looked over rather sternly. I gave him the I'm sorry shrug and hand gesture. He just smiled, shook his finger at me then pulled away. I guess he saw what was going on with the truck.

When I had my XB12R 2009, I got pulled over and the cop asked the usual, checked me out on the computer and then we BS'ed for about 30 minutes about buell and how their cool! No Ticket! I was clocked at 20 over and just slowed down by 20! One COOL Cop. He was in a car but just came off the motor patrol.

I wish I could tell a nice story, In the last ten years I have been pulled over 3 or 4 times no tickets just chatting me up. One time after returning from the coast 95 miles each way. My S1 was covered in bugs and road grime, the bike looked spent. My leathers were mostly yellow bug splats. My face shield was worse. I looked spent. In Oregon it is legal to go from a two way to a one way, if it is clear. I did this in downtown and Portland's best motor cop pulled up alongside and said "kind of rushing the light weren't you?" As we coasted down the street I answered back; "NOPE two way to one way is legal". We could have stopped and cleared it up. All he said was "you sure" and I answered YUP. He turned at the next corner to get back to his perch. The next cop incident came late at night when I was returning to my house. One of Portland's finest made a left turn in his car into my left turn lane. He cut the corner and was square in my lane heading for me! I jump over to the lane on my right. What does he do as I stare into his door window? He places his hand and folded arm over the side of his face so I can't ID him.

There is good and bad everywhere.
