So, I am gonna miss my bike so much as I will be in China for the next month, but after I get back I will have the resources to start throwing upgrades on my bike. I don't need any performance upgrades (this is my first bike and dear god, it is fast enough already(for now)).

Anyways, one of the things I am constantly worried about is people hitting my rear like Jonny Depp at a gay bar. I saw a Honda of some sort the other night and every time he hit his brakes it would flash the brake light three times real fast before going solid. Is there any ways to do this on the 1125, and do you all think it would be a good/helpful idea if so?

I am not good enough with electronics to design it myself, but if anyone could make the design to do this, I could probably get a pcb and the components and solder it all together.

Also, if anyone has any other suggestions as far lighting goes, feel free to chime in. I plan on getting HID lights eventually as well.

Hmm, actually I just found this: http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/16051.html

Anyone tried this out? It is pretty damn expensive.

I'd suggest the '10 LED tail light and DDM Tuning HIDs. A habit I've developed is tapping my brake lever a few times prior to braking. Saves the $80 part from asb.

I just swapped out the std rear bulb for am SMD/SMT LED one, it's massively brighter...

I also tap the brakes a few times before actually applying them, it's habit now..

3M reflective tape also works.

We have a brake flasher we sell with our lights for an additional $20.

It can be set to flash 4-5 times or 10-12 times.
Full plug and play, but we only sell them with our lights.

Ride safe!

++ to the XBLights flasher module.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYOhEZcXnP4 is video of it on my 1125R.

I'm *very* happy with it, and if you're interested in being visible, I can't think of a better option than the XBLights full board tail light with flasher. You can keep the stock LED turn signals which are brilliant, and go to a brake light that is nuclear powered.

There are a lot of products that the touring guys use- headlight modulators, tail light modulators or LED bulbs that are always moving in a pattern, etc.

The fear of getting rear-ended will pass, but you should always be keeping an eye on cars behind you when stopping. You have the biggest advantage in getting out of the way because of size, but you need to know what/who is there.

I know how you feel. I was rear ended on a motorcycle as a youth. I was pushed forward into the intersection about 25 feet. I always stop on the extreme left so if that ever happens again I will be in a position to not rear end the vehicle in front of me. I have also reasoned that this left most position is directly in the drivers line of sight (US anyway) which may give you half a chance of being seen sooner. Nothing scares me more than a scooter or mc that is solo riding to the right most part of the lane. That effectively puts you OUT of the drivers forward sight pattern and first to be hit from side traffic.

My Ulysses and my S2 both have extra brakelights, that flash the whole time I'm on the brake. I put them in the top case lens on the Uly, and there was enough room in the S2 that they're inside the stock lens there. Just haven't figured out where to put 'em on the CR yet....but the '10 light works just fine for me now. I may put a modulator on it and call it done - 5 or 10 flashes then steady-on.

Awesome on the XB Lights modulator. I was planning on getting a set of lights from them anyways.
