I started my bike for the first time in a week and the fuel and gas light come on for about 30 sec.
I need to check for a code or something I guess
Could this be a possible fuel pump problem in the making?
2009 1125R I have the udated flash after sub harness replacement and my bike is all stock with 2000 miles.

Does it come on immediately after the CT Cold message disappears (like mine does)

And did you notice a scrolling message like "LFL Systemn Error" or similar when it happens?

If you do a search on LFL you'll find a fair few threads on this topic, the IC with s/w revision 6.2 has a glitch that polls the fuel level thermistor and reports an out of range problem to the IC, it is corrected by s/w revion 6.3 (needs a new IC)

PLEASE NOTE
This may not be the problem you're having but we'd need a bit more info on the symptoms before offering any other suggestions.

Mine did the same thing 1 time, it was upon startup after riding a short distance to meet a friend (CT still cold, and no error message flashing). I stopped and started it a couple of times and then it went away. Several hundred miles since then and it hasn't happened since.

Mine is going in for the CA can and harness next weekend, so I will be mentioning it to the techs to see if something is stored in the ECM.

I think, Jules, your numbers are wrong. 6.2 was supposedly the IC that fixed the issue which was inherent in 6.1

I did not have this issue with my 6.1 cluster on my DEC 07 build 1125r, but just recently this developed on my 6.2 cluster which took place of the old one due to the parastic drain issue. New fuel sending unit solved the fuel level error.

I had my fuel pump & pressure reg replaced for the same problem, no problems since.

How many times did this problem happen before the dealer replaced your fuel pump and pressure regulator?
I get the low fuel sys err every once in a while not every time I start it.}
