I called up today to see if my order had shipped. And i got to talking to the guy about the fact that some of you guys on here with the 55 watt kit had some issues with the lights going out sometimes. He told me they sell and accessory harness that will hook right into the battery to give the lights some extra juice. He said it cost $15 and is easy to install.

And its made for cars, so the wire lengths are way wrong. Works great if you can hack and splice. (I can't)

But again, countless thousands of miles with HIDs on several vehicles, never an issue that wasn't my fault

Nill,

I had the same thing happen to me on my high beam on my CR (only have two bulbs so I got the 55w). It was spark like it was trying to light but never ignite, after cycling the key on and off it would come back on, but it did do this again later in the night. This happened yesterday, I had no issues with them working consistently prior to this since January.

I have a dual 55W (hi/lo) DDM HID setup on the Suzuki. The problems with starting/lights going out/not firing/etc are all legit and expected if you simply wire the HID's into the existing (stock) circuit.

Wire the lights to feed directly from the battery (1 problem solved) and with a latching relay to the brake light circuit or a time delay relay to prevent them from coming on until the motor is running (other problem solved).

Short of that, you're going to have issues from time to time.

Wire them correctly and they're a thing of beauty. Damn near a particle beam weapon.

I have a pair of 35w HID lo-beams in my R
Bought them 2 years ago from DUB Lights in NY for 120 bucks.

Wired directly to the old headlight wires, no relay.
By the time the IC has initialized after turning the key on, the lights are almost at full bright and don't seem to mind the momentary cut-off.

One of the best mods to Loretta yet, 6k light is beautiful.
