i ordered a michelin pilot road 2. I haven't mounted it yet. I saw this tire on clearance at mtorcylesuperstore for $80, what do you guys think? anybody have this tire? how many miles did you get out of it? do you like better or worse then the stock corsa III? I don't ride in rain. mostly highway, with some twisties on the weekend. I am thinking of maybe getting this as a track tire?

Always had good experience with Pilot Road and Pilot Road 2's on my Uly. I wouldn't hesitate putting them on the 1125.

The Racetec K2 won't last very long. But, it will be nice and sticky.

Excellent track tire, but you'll want something comparable for the front.

I've used them on my trackbike and they're excellent. They won't last long at all on the road if you use the 1125 as intended.

They come in different compounds too.

i still have the stock corsa III on the front, would that run well with the k2 on the rear?

Any manufacturer would tell you no. In reality, that's not always the case. Your proposed combination isn't one I'd like to try though.

I like replacing the front with the rears, even if the front has lots of "tread" left.

There's nothing like the feel of fresh tires on a bike.

Dktech,

I doubt you would get 4k out of the rear. Maybe 2-3k.

I always like to have the stickier tire up front if I'm running two different compounds. For example, I ran a Pilot Power front and Pilot Road rear on my GSXR1000. Worked just fine. You don't want the stickier tire out back. I'd go with the Pilot Road or Road 2 like you had planned. In fact, I just put a PR2 on my 1125. I got a nail in my Corsa III after only 1500 miles so I had to replace it. I will post back results in 1000 miles.

+1 on that advice. The back tire can help you steer by sliding...the front...not so much : D

Powerslides=cool
Lowsides=not cool at all.

+ 2 go sticky up front for sure.

That is a medium race track tire so you want a med or soft front...not street compound.
