You need to have the latest ECM flash. Mine did the very same thing and finally was resolved by the last re-flash. If you have had the re-flash done, politely ask to have them do it again. My 2nd re-flash needed to be done 2x before it worked.

Hmm...could be many different things. Does the bike have to fully be warmed up for it to do it? Does it happen very randomly?

It could be something odd like something is in the fuel tank floating around and covers up the filter. Something like a rag or a piece of paper. The air leak is also another good place to start. Maybe its a fuel pump issue. Maybe it isn't fuel at all. Could be a coil gone bad in the ignition. Without knowing more it is very hard to properly diagnose. Good luck though.

Been there done that and that scenario is the same as mine and many other's. (we tried to over thunk it too but...) I even got good enough to pull the clutch, hit the starter all w/o planting a foot.

I'll bet a 6-pack on the ECM flash!

well i just had it in for its first service about 500 miles ago they said the updated everything, also it seems like it doesnt always start up right away either. ill push the ignition button and it seems to take a few seconds of holding it in for it to start. even if its warmed up itll do it sometimes. i guess illl be calling my dealer to come and get it and do it all over again or look at it and figure it out. its under warranty so it should be covered. i have an after market exhaust on it too, but it did it before i put it on so i know its not that. thanks for your help guys!

also i noticed that theres no safety on the kickstand you can just drive with it down, my xb9 would stall out. i can get it to shift up and down gears with out the clutch in sometimes. not that i do it on purpose.

As I stated once before today, all 2004+ US spec fuel injected Buell's do not have (nor do not need) a sidestand switch.

Also, clutchless shifting is perfectly fine.

denoid your bike if you have not done so already they all do that starting thing once in awhile and if you have not had it happen to you you will and get the flash when you can.

Denoiding is a good thing for getting rid of the severe WOT stumble at 4,500 rmp.

It does not cure anything else.
