I need a tank bag or something to throw a few things in and am thinking about the Cortech Super Mini tank bag. If you have one, please let me know what you think. I quite concerned about what a tank bag will do to the finish. I've had them for years on my other bikes, but I worry a bit about how the Buell plastic will hold up. | ||

I have one. Took it on a 3500+ mile trip last summer. It worked great and left no marks on the plastic. Just make sure to keep the tank bag pad clean, and always clean the plastic tank cover before putting it on. | ||

Put mine on 2 months ago and haven't taken it off yet. I use it every day. Easy to put on, no marks on the tank, plenty of storage for basic items: gloves, sunblock, garage door opener, sunglasses, mp3, etc. And has a map pouch, although quite small. It's not a big bag, but will take care of 90% of the stuff you need on the road. Most everything else you don't really need anyway. Unless you're on a long trip, then you need some saddlebags. For the riding I do, I haven't found a need for anything else. | ||

Looks like it blocks the gas cap a little? Do the straps adjust enough so that does not happen? | ||

When I fill up I disconnect the bag from the straps, flop it over the seat, then reconnect when I'm done. I thought it would be a pain when I first got it, but it's not a big deal at all. The strap that goes around the frame has velcro near the buckles that holds it in place so it doesn't all off the bike. The buckles stay pretty much in place so when you put the back back in position, the buckles are right there to re-connect. | ||

I do. Have had it on the bike for 25K miles. I am really pleased with the bag. Big enough to hold some nick-nacks.. Not to big to interfere with you while riding. It has not scratched the airbox cover and with proper adjustments you do not need to remove it to fuel the bike. |
