the connector that is plugged? it has two little black dots on the plug? i was wondering the same thing : )

If it's the gray 2-wire electrical connector with a filler/blockoff in it...it's the accessory power outlet plug. You can plug heated grips right into it, or get a Ulysses power outlet and plug it right in.

Be advised, the outlet is only powered when the engine is running. I have the Garmin wired to it. Not really an issue, but....
