Author Message   Steeltech Posted on Saturday, May 01, 2010 - 11:47 pm:        Sorry to bring up something I'm sure has been talked about many a time, but what is this charging system harness update I'm hearing about. I kind of joined a service and haven't had the net all the time so I'm not up to speed on all of my updates. What is it suppose to do and is there a bulletin I can read on it? Thanks for any help. ST   03fatboy Posted on Saturday, May 01, 2010 - 11:56 pm:        It is a new harness to the alternator, and a program to allow the alternator to cool better. It shuts down a few poles on it when at idle then turns them on when there is a demand on the system. You should get a letter from HD about it if your bike is affected. Or take it to the dealer and they can run your VIN.
