For those of you that have purchased some exhaust tips for your 1125, where did you get them? And were they easy to install? I was reading another thread where someone lost his brake due to the exhaust heating it up. I don't want this to happen to me, but i can't weld, so i need to find some bolt on exhaust tips. | ||

If you look on ebay they are on there. I ordered them a while back but still in Iraq for another month so I haven't gotten them installed yet. I have heard you can do it with the wheel on if you shave down the allen key. I will probably go that route when I install them. Have seen pics they are pretty sweet looking. | ||

That was the first time I have ever heard the exhaust causing the brake the melt, I honestly think it was something else though. Anyway, Badweb sponsor Keda Designs makes turnouts for the stock pipe, you can either get them welded on or you can mail him your pipe and he welds them for you. There are some other tips on Ebay that bolt on, but based on what I have read on here they can be a pain to install with the tire on. Also, they are made by a guy that got banned from here for running his mouth. | ||

I am looking at the keda designs Rt-1, what do you guys think of that exhaust? I know its just a modified stock exhaust, but the gains look good and it would be a good way to get the exhaust tips put on. Also, would i be able to run a stock ecm and air filter with a RT-1? | ||

The RT-1 is a stainless pipe, the MT-1 is the stock modified pipe (Muffled Thunder) I will be getting one soon to go in addition to my RT1 Yes you will be able to run the stock stuff with the MT1, as its not a significant change. | ||

I have been using a set on my 1125R that I bought off Ebay, stainless turnouts. A little hard to tighten locking set screw, but they seem to do a fine job. Can`t see any exhaust residue on brake, wheel or tire after 800 miles. | ||

Fur did you do it without taking your wheel off? Was thinking about just shaving down an allen key to get in there. | ||

Just ordered a ebay Ss set for 120. Was going to go the weld on route but shipping the pipe there and back was too much. | ||

The ebay set of turnouts have a set screw that is hard to get to with the tire on. My solution was to carefully adjust the set screw with repeated testing to get it snug, then I tapped each one on with a rubber mallet. Next time I changed the tire (which I seem to do all to regularly) I checked the set screw for snugness (but it was fine actually). | ||

i am going to change the tire really soon anyway, so i'll just throw the exhaust turnouts on when i have the tire off. | ||

Ohbuellman glad I'm not the only one that had that problem. The set screws on my tips are stripped out putting them on. I figure if they don't fall off in the mean time I'll do it right next time the tires off lol. | ||
