-How does one know if their belt is still good? I mean its not like a Chain.

-My belt on my bike almost like half of it is wearing and the white strings are showing, not frayed yet but the bike has less than 1k miles on it.

-Is this normal? I just noticed it today, half of the outside of the belt is black and the other half is white, like as if the black rubber/kevlar is worn and rubbing away on something.

-Anyone else have this problem?
-It is under warranty right?

It will depart from your bike when its no longer good : )

Yes.

Be sure to inspect your belt guards to make sure nothing is rubbing.

Strings sticking out of the sides of the belt is normal. They make them in sheets, and cut them to width. Chips out of the teeth, or cracks across the teeth...*those* are bad things. String-ends on the sides....well...ride, smile, repeat.

At 33k miles mine looks fine. Don't know what to say.

Don't abuse it *too* badly and you shouldn't have to worry about it.

If you drag race it or track it, yeah, you might have belt issues at some point, but otherwise... unless a rock or something gets in there, they're rather bulletproof.

IMO it's very much the best of both worlds - the losses of a chain, with the maintenance of a shaft drive. And probably lighter than a chain, too.
