I don't want to use the Harley Syn3 oil and looking into the Mobil1 Synthetic V-Twin oil. Does anyone have any comments? I also want to use it in my XB, but not sure if I want to use it in my primary case. Any further thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

I just put in amsoil 20w-50. I got it for $8.50 a quart, which i thought is a great price. I have heard great things about mobil1 v-twin, i just got the amsoil 'cause the dealer is really close to me and he sold it for wholesale.

Medic, I've run it in my Uly for ~17,000 miles and it's what they recommend for the 1125 as well (I asked).

If you like Mobil 1 stuff, they specifically recommend their 10W-40 synthetic motorcycle oil for the Buell XB primary/transmission, although I haven't used it (yet).

The Mobil1 V-twin synthetic is very good stuff. I used the MX-4 Mobil1 in my Hayabusa and now have the V-twin in my 1125. If you have an Advance Auto Parts near you they have it on sale for $7.99 / qt! http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores /servlet/content_AAP-April-Flyer-Page-10.html

Thanks all for the advice so far, and thanks to Hughlysses, I may try the 10W-40 for the Primary.

Yep....use Mobil 1 15-50 (car) oil in both my 1125CR and my XB12S.

I've used it for MANY years in all of my different bikes.
I've got over 100,000 miles on two sport bikes and my 2003, Yamaha R1 has 98,7xx miles on it. And it still runs great. No oil related concerns or problems at all.

+1 on Mobil1 15w50. I've used it exclusively for more than a decade with no oil related problems whatsoever.

Had the MX4 in my Hayabusa for 47K miles without even needing a valve clearance adjustment, got the Vtwin in the 1125R and I'm happy with it. It's even mechanically quieter, enough that my wife noticed the difference just walking by.

I'm not to give myself a free plug, but......

I am an Amsoil dealer, if anybody needs help locating a dealer or needs/wants more info pm me and I'd be happy to help out in any way I can. I sell the stuff cuz I use the stuff, I make very little money if any on a transaction like this unless your buying 5 55 gallon drums of oil.

Again feel free to ask questions.

BTW, I have inquired about being a sponsor, got no reply.

Lots of choices out there, heard a new one(to me) yesterday, BG Oil..
We carry Amsoil, Lucas, Red Line, Mobil 1 V-Twin and Royal Purple engine oils at High Country.

I like Red Line, we have 10w-40, 20w-50 and 20w60, I run 10w-40 in winter and 20-w50 the rest of the year.

As long as it's slippery, it's good

I run AMSOIL because it's the best. Read the reports... it's just that simple.

That's not true...
They may have paid for the report but it was done by an idependant lab. Try to find the amsoil motorcycle oil report PDF file online and see for yourself. There also have been several automotive rags that have done similar testing.
