Look, I'm not bashing you or the others for the want to make mods to make the bike fit you better but when it consists of all the mods you spoke of I think you just got the wrong bike and now your trying adjust it. Those mods WILL change how the bike acts, reacts and performs and you still wont be happy. All the money you spend will only make you wish you had a CR.

Your 100% right!!! I really was looking for a CR and I couldn't find one. Lord knows I tried. But I love the way the 1125R looks, and I would have probably changed the fairing if I got a CR.

It's just that people here are changing their exhaust and doing intake mods. Isn't that really more intrusive.

Looks like I really started a controversy.

My opinion is that a bike is an extension of the bike's owner and what he wants from it. Not the other way around.

Nothing wrong with mod'ing the bike to however and whatever purpose you see fit.

I find it very comfortable on the highway where wind + speed holds my gorilla frame up.

However in town commuting to work i find my neck with quickly complain. Hense im looking at high bar kit and cr tree and clamp.

A bike that doesnt hurt you when you ride gets ridden more frequently.

Mmm this motor in a BMW F800gs frame (short legs long torso makes Ully WAY out of my league)

Personally i have never owned a stock bike, can't seem to bring myself to have one that's the same as every other bike in the dealership so mods are the way to go.

No bike (including Buells) is perfect - some come pretty close, but they are all "compromised" somehow, be it emissions, budget or to fit a "universal human shape" that does not really exist.

Lower pegs, raised bars, taller screens, reprofiled seats, heated grips etc etc are absolutely fine if that's what the owner wants/needs to enhance his/her enjoyment of the bike they paid their money for.

Adapting the bike to make it a better fit for you is only natural.

So perfectly said it deserves repeating.

Some of us aren't rich enough to own several bikes. Well I am but their both Buells... anyways my bikes have to pull commuting duty, road trips and weekend warrior. To make that a possibility I enjoy many of the mods Ive made to my Buell. People come in different shapes and sizes. Everyone has different wants and needs. I credit Buell for giving me the best possible base to build my ideal bike from. Buell was aware that people may want mods which is why they sold an accessories catalog.

BTW, IMHO the 1125r makes a great tourer. This spring I put 2800 miles on in 8days. I was surprised how comfortable I was on it.
