I wanted to give a shout out to my dealership and a badweb sponser Latus HD in Gladestone Oregon. Seriously, these guys have made my 1125R my favorite bike hands down.

Before I bought my 08 1125R (It was salvaged, and private party sale) they ran a VIN check for me to make sure all recalls had been done.

Upon getting my bike (private party, not from them) they replaced my battery under warranty and downloaded the newest flash.

Their service department had bought a D&D (the pipe i wanted) for research and development and ended up selling it to me (slightly used) for a very discounted price.

After putting on about 1,000 miles (5k on odometer) the dreaded clutch weep hit me. Because of the damage to the clutch cover (previous accident before I bought the bike) I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get the weep fixed under warranty, but my service writer was on the phone for days and worked it out for me. And I now have a weep free bike with upgraded piston/sleeve kit and Rev B clutch cover.

After my LFL and other cluster problems they got me a brand new updated IC, again under warranty.

It didn't end there, they also installed the CA Emission canister for me while doing the other warranty work.

All in all I bought a used Buell from a private party and my dealership did absolutely everything they could to help me get the bike in the shape it deserved to be in, all with zero off the road time. parts where ordered, appointment was set, dropped the bike off at 9am and picked it up at 5pm. 8 hours of ride time was all that I missed out on.

So I though I would send a much well deserved thank you to Latus Harley Davidson as well as BMC for a great warranty plan and excellent service. I love my new bike, and love my dealership.

What ? ? . . . you could have gone on the internet, complained, whined, spun some yard about how you might crash and threatened to take your weeping clutch information to the NHTSA folks.

You mean you and the dealer just discussed it, found a solution, fixed it and you are now enjoying riding?

What are you? . . crazy?

: )

Actually . . .I used to go to Latus quite a bit and they've been impressive since my first visit there for Buell 15 years ago.

George Latus is both a really nice guy and a true enthusiast.

Great to read about your experience.

Its good to hear some positive feedback, yes these Buells have a few issue's, but they are getting it sorted. If you want trouble free/boring bike go Jap.

For great character, riding, admiring passers by and pleasure go Buell

It is good to hear positive feedback, indeed.
I was starting to hate my dealership, until yesterday. I've never been treated so nicely.
It did kinda strike a sore note when one of the service guys asked if I wanted to sell my Buell yet (because of the issues).

Other than that, they were a great bunch of guys yesterday. Hopefully it'll last.

Geez , I would love to have your dealer, next door.

Mine in Houston, Mancuso sucks, previous postings...
Having a cool, honest, capable dealer can change your life.

Versus a bad one, will end up in bs, bs and bs again.

Good for you, good for you. if you come to Houston, pass by have a beer one day. PM me

If you want trouble free/boring exciting bike go Jap Buell.

Fixed it for you!

Could not agree more wrt George Lathus. He's a true enthusiast. Just wished Rapp was on an 1125R this year instead of the Duc.

I have nothing but good things to say about Santa Fe Harley as well.

This, after my long and well hated rants about some of the other dealerships I've been to.

Santa Fe treats me like they *want* my business, and they have a bunch of Buell guys in the service department. One of the techs rides an 08 1125R with over 60k miles on it, and apparently put over 150k on his previous Buell.

They're dealing with the fuel boiling issue under warranty (E10 gas everywhere + high altitude + high temps = my first floor smells of gas whenever I come home), and generally make me feel welcome there, verses the feeling I get at the other dealerships of "Can you please get this plastic thing out of here so we can put chrome on something?"

I'm *much* happier with the bike now that I know I can get service done competently.
