I'd do a GB, but if that's not possible I'll just mention BWB and see what happens. Will probably order in a week or two.

Just heard from Henri from Moto-Science and the group mirror buy is on for one week starting today 4/5 through 4/12.

All you have to do is send Henry an e-mail to hb7@ca.rr.com and mention the BWB Group Buy and he will send you a paypal invoice for the mirrors with the group buy price of $159.00 + 12.00 for USPS priority mail.

how big a guy are you?

I like a bigger mirror but I can't figure out where they are going to fit. I have never seen a set of mirrors that will get around my XL shoulders. My s1 has drag bars and Napoleons down low. On the CR Napoleons hit the frame. It currently has the clubmans with a small round mirror on the left bar end. The stock mirrors are going to a BWBer when my turn signals arrive.

The top mirror is the new Ducati Gran Turismo 23 led perch mount mirror made for Ducati Multistrada, also fit the 1125CR.
12 inch of horizontal reach and convex mirror glass. Mirror is mounted on a ball socket, so also tilts. The Mirror spring tension is user adjustable if you need to
adjust the tension. This mirror works very well with Moto-Guzzi Stelvio and Ducati
Multistrada twin cylinder vibration.

Ugh, my mirrors have always been the big, hairy mole on the forehead of my beauty queen! These mirrors look 100% better and making them actually usable? Craziness, pure and simple. Email sent for group buy, didn't take much convincing : )

Here is what is included in the Buell mirror kit. I am informed that there is nothing else needed for installation.

Ordered my set finally today... The Ducati Gran Turismo 23 led perch mount mirror, I will post pic's when installed. Henri recommended these for the XXL riders. I'm more concerned with functionality, because the officer asked me, "Why it took so long for me to pull over." Not being able to see him in the mirrors was not the answer he was looking for... LOL

Yes, I can vouch for the fact they are
more civil when you pull over right away.
What works for me is fumbling for registration and insurance for as long as possible. By the time I give it to them,
they are distracted and have cooled down some. I have been let go with that routine twice.

Can someone post a pic of the OEM mirror lying beside the MotoScience mirror? I am very interested in purchasing, but would like to know how the compare in lateral length to the OEM.

Am also curious about the brightness of the LEDs compared to OEM, as are others.

Still to many open questions for me to jump on. The mirror design does look good on the bike, but from the above pic you can't tell:
- How the lateral reach compares to the OEM (shorter, longer, same?). It appears that the arm is longer laterally, but it may be perception, as the OEM vertical arm angles out and is longer, which may make up the difference...?
- How brite the signals are (I would imagine they are brite, but it would be nice to see)
- Close-up pic of how the stalk is mounted to the perch. Looks like there is a somewhat unsightly adapter?

As for the price, MSRP isn't extreme and the GB price is great. You don't wanna know how much I had to pay for mirrors for my ZX10R that provide an acceptable view and complimented the bike.

Reducati,

If you are concerned about the brightness of the turn signals I suggest you go with the 23 LED Ducati Gran Turismo mirrors as this mirror only has 4 LEDs. Now your homework assignment is to go count the LEDs on your stock mirror.

Hint: You will need all 10 of your digits, all 10 toes, and another carbon based life form with at least 10 digits and 3 toes. ;-(=)

Crazyhawk99,

I've got these moto-science mirrors installed on my bike.

1) I don't know exactly how a mirror is supposed to be measured on paper (See diagram below) but on the bike there is a huge difference in the amount of viewing that is blocked by my elbows between the two mirrors. Almost 50% with the stock mirrors is elbows and armpits. Not even 10% of the MS mirror is blocked. So not only is visibility increase by almost 40% but it's all a lot clearer due to significantly less vibration.

2) So far the only downside to these mirrors is the fewer number of LEDs. It seems like there would have been plenty of room for the manufacturer of the mirror to install two or three times as many LEDs into the mirror so it must not have been a safety issue for the them. The tear drop style mirror only has 4 LEDs compared to 33 in the stock mirror and for that reason the blink rate is faster once you install these mirrors as it is not putting as much a load on the bike. Personally, I like the faster blink rate as I think it gets more attention, but if this is a concern you might want to consider the Grand Tourismo mirror which has 23 LEDs and uses the same mounting system.

3) I had the same initial reaction as you concerning the mount or as you refer to it the "stalk". There is no getting around the mount, it has to have a bolt (the stalk) and nut to attach it to the bike (just like most every other mirror out on the market) and in this case a compression nut to attach the mirror. This is the only difference as the manufacturer of these mirrors uses the same mounts for various different style mirrors. You might try to find a rubber sleeve to slide down on top of the mount from the arm. Now I think it fits right in with the way Buell's are built.

Just remember: "Buells wont make you any friends." - The Good Book of Buell 8/24.

Fierrosc,

Your input is much appreciated.

Perhaps Motoscience will post a pic of the OEM mirror beside the ones they offer in the same way they did the one above with the ruler. I think it will give all interested a better idea of the size and shape of their products compared to the OEM mirror.

From what I can tell in the pics, the Grand Tourismo mirror is larger than OEM and in my opinion won't compliment the CR.

I agree, it's a shame the manufacturer didn't include more LEDs in the smaller mirror, which does look good mounted on the CR.

Crazyhawk99,

I don't believe Henri (the owner of Moto-Science) has access to an OEM mirror. Since mine are off the bike I'll see what I can come up with.

Well this is a little more accurate than licking my finger and holding it up in the wind. ;-(O)

Outline of the stock mirror (black) to base of mount and the moto-science tear drop (red) mirror including the mount (no threads).

Thanks for the sketch. I am convinced the MS mirrors aren't what I am looking for. I believe 100% they will be an improvement reference vibration and adjustability; but it looks like based on the size of the actual mirror (smaller), the fact that they look like they will sit lower on the bike (approx 2" not including adapter) and they don't come out any farther (laterally) than OEM (possibly shorter laterally) and only 4 LEDs in the blinker pretty much takes them out of the hunt for me.

They do look great though. The search continues.

Thanks for doing the legwork on this one. Looks like many members went for the buy and I am sure they will be happy they did. Your work netted them a decent discount.

It appears this mirror solves all of the problems except being able to see around my arms properly. Has any one tried to get the 23 led mirror with the GB. I emailed twice with no responce.

I'm a relatively big guy, 5'11, 230lbs with big wide shoulders (48 jacket) and it solved my problem of seeing around my elbows. With the stock mirror about 50% of my viewing is blocked by my elbow (everything left of the word ARE at the bottom of the mirror up and inside is elbow and arm pit). With the Moto-Science mirrors only a small sliver of my outer elbow show up in the mirror (about 10mm from the inside of the mirror).

Why is this if the two mirrors are identical in horizontal length? Because the Moto-Science mirror is more adjustable. I say don't knock them until you've tried them.

The Ducati MTS Monster Gran Turismo LED mirror is the longest LED mirror I have found. Some other Ducati LED mirrors which will fit the 1125CR and handle twin vibration :
