The mid pipe helps the power gain so I can live with it.. It looks better under a fairing though LOL

Right now I'm torn. I had originally planned on buying an EBR ECM, which is around $250. If I sold my Barker exhaust and bought one of your RT-3s, I'd be about $250 out of pocket. I am pretty sure that I wouldn't be able to squeeze past my wife a $250 ECM plus a $250 exhaust upgrade (especially when I JUST bought an exhaust) but if you offered an inexpensive tune to go with your system, then I'd be able to get an RT-3 AND have a better-than-stock tune for the same money that I would have spent on the Barker plus an EBR ECM. So, yeah, that would be friggin' sweet if you did that, Dean.

Mountainstorm, your X1 sounds really good. It doesn't even sound like it has a Harley-based motor.

Everyone's gotta do what makes them happy, but I'll bet money on the RT3 being louder than the Barker, so if that's a concern, maybe you should hear it in person first. I need to move on some wideband equipment pretty soon, I'm debating what I want to use. I know the LC-1 works with ecmspy, but I'll end up spending $600 for that setup. The other route is build it myself for about 1/2 that, but there's really no support for it from anyone, so I'd be on my own for anything going wrong.

so now that i have internet back. Is the picture above in froggy's pic what the rt1 looks like. I am really not concerned to what the pipe looks like. I just want to hear the bike and be able to listen to that little guy on my shoulder tell me to nail that next corner. D I would love to be able to listen to your exhaust sometime. I could probable meet you in like Effingham or somewhere down that way.

It is what the RT1 looks like, because it is one! : D

Unfortunately you got to hear the thing in person, as all youtube videos and mp3 sound clips sound the exact same.

Unless I get the RT Type 4 done, I'll be (hopefully) heading to Homecoming with the RT1 on mine, it will be the original unless I build a new set of collectors for it.

: )

I can do Effingham. It's a hike, but I think I can manage it, maybe on a saturday or sunday.

Also, each one is custom, so none look exactly the same. I don't have a machine to cut each one perfectly the same, so it won't ever happen. I might get two of them very similar, but never identical. Each one is hand built to order. The RT1 pictured on my site is the original, I just haven't included any new pics of it there.

Dean, I think the loudest part of the Barker exhaust without the QC is at idle. The thumping Apache helicopter sound when the motor is spinning 1500rpm is really penetrating. (With the quiet core, it's a lot more tolerable but still sounds good when the bike is opened up.) You said that your RT-3 sounds similar to your other two exhausts at lower rpm (below 5000 or so?) which isn't very loud and that's fine.. I rarely go above that rpm when commuting. And if it's louder when I really open it up, so be it.

I'm not in a huge hurry, so I'll probably wait and see what you decide to come up with for a tune over the next couple of months. I also need to make a trip to the dealership and get my 1125R flashed with the most recent tune. I've just been putting off the trip until I've got some miles on my bike, so if anything breaks, I can have it taken care of at the same time. So far I've got about 730 miles on the bike and no issues.

Dave, have you really wrung it out yet, all the way to redline or anywhere close? At full wail, the RT3 is pretty loud. I rode this morning for an hour without earplugs and the RT1 can and while it wasn't painful, I'd really recommend ear plugs, which I normally wear. If you want to hear both, I still have the prototype and they can be swapped out fairly easily. 10 minutes to change them, even while it's hot.

I think I might want to put my pennies toward the duel cans with an X-pipe.

Any idea when this might happen Dean? Might be willing to put some of my coins upfront on it.

I'm trying to sort out the crossover pipe now. Buying the parts for it is expensive, I want to keep it lower priced if I can. A pre-made crossover starts out around $300 and goes up from there. I still need bends, tubing and a pair of cans, outlets, hangers, etc. It's being worked on, but I have a few orders to get finished, I hope to get them all done this coming weekend.
