My 1125R is stock except for a Barkers exhaust and it apparently has a pretty old tune--BUEZ0DP0, if memory serves. It runs well for the first 10-15 minutes of riding but then throttle response goes to hell. For example, I was idling along in traffic at first and second gear speeds, after having ridden the bike for about 20 minutes. I'd twist the throttle a little bit and nothing would happen. I'd twist it a little more; still nothing. Finally a little more twisting and the bike would scoot forward.

This may well be the noid and I'm going to at least disconnect the control wire tonight. (I am still waiting on the backordered resistor to arrive at the dealer.) But I decided to check my TPS readings using the diag mode. With the throttle closed, it reads 2% and with it snapped open, it reads 100%. But if I slowly open the throttle, it reads around 85% at WOT. It won't go any higher than 85% no matter how hard I twist. But if I snap the throttle closed and back open, it reads 100% again at WOT.

I also noticed that there is a slight bit of resistance in the throttle. While I am slowly rolling it open or closed, it feels like there are about a half dozen detents in the throttle travel. IE, I'll turn the throttle a tiny bit and it will have a bit more resistance for a very short part of its travel, then it will turn smoothly for a tiny bit more of the travel, and then it will have a bit more resistance. Of course, I just went outside to see how many detents it felt like there were in the throttle travel and the throttle twists smoothly. The bike has been sitting for about an hour and a half and is cooled down so maybe something is expanding and causing the throttle issues.

I'm going to check the throttles, cables, etc tonight and see if there is any possibility of anything binding and will do a TPS reset after checking everything. I suspect something must be loose for the TPS WOT reading to vary by 15% based on how quickly I twist open the throttle. Has anyone else seen their TPS reading vary like this?

Probably the solenoid. You can disconnect the cable from the noid, and leave it in place. (so you don't need the resistor...)

I just checked TPS again after the bike sat for two hours. It now smoothly moves from 2% to 100% whether I move the throttle slowly or quickly. There must be something binding--guess I'll find out tonight!

I've disconnected the noid, but now that I'm in there (not that it's not particularly hard by any means), I'd like to just remove the noid entirely. I probably won't have my resistor until next week some time. I realize I'll get a CEL if I run the bike with the noid disconnected and no resistor, but can I just use ECMSpy to clear the code after I get the resistor? And in the meantime, is there any chance of any negative effect on rideability if the ECM knows that the noid is gone? Thanks!

Yea you can just ECMspy to clear the code.

Ride ability will be better without the noid! Who cares what the ECM thinks... Tell it to Efff off. lol
