Kind of funny listening to a Buell 1125 owner criticizing the appearance of the front end of an S1000RR.

Just saying.

I have the CR not the R, thats why. The R model Buell's front end looks swollen, out of proportion with the rest of the bike.

The Aprilia engine problem was a glitch, involved a run of early bikes and they owned up to it with a quick fix, done.

The front end was designed that way for endurance racing? Why change the whole look of the bike for a race or two per year? Looks are subjective and its just my opinion it looks awkward, but this is a Buell crowd, so having awkward looks is normal.

The Aprilia is tiny looking because of the ultra MotoGP looking tail, I don't care for it.

I don't think the BMW will compete against the V4 Aprilia for some time to come. I think Xaus is frustrated, hence hes starting to crash more, pushing the bike for better results. Both Corser and Xaus have had plenty of seat time to know the bike, they know the tracks, the Aprilia is much better.

Hey Mr-t-1125R, just out of curiosity, if hypothetically your garage is on fire, which do you grab first, Ducati or Buell, monetary value not considered?

Xaus has always been crash-happy. That was obvious during a WSBK race I was working at Laguna Seca when he crashed while leading. It's what he does. He is extremely talented, none the less.

The BMW is still an infant in a class of adults. Give it a few years. They'll build on a solid platform and start to bring in top riders.

I think the Aprilia looks bad ass. I think it's made for riders like Biaggi who are 5'1 and 47 pounds. I still say the BMW would be better on the street than the Aprilia.

Hey Du_phuck, WTF kind of name is that, is that some Chinese/Italian cuisine.

Last Easter Sunday I rode both back to back 2 times on 2 different 10 mile loops. The Duc sounds better than the Buell, the Termi's are nice, the motor is smoother, the stock front fork is horrible. My Buell is stock so all you hear intake and gear whine from the cam to cam drive, suspension is better. The Buell will leave the Duc for dead, even with the Ducati race kit on it, old school air cooled 2V is no match for the Helicon. I would grab the 1125R and use the insurance $ from the Duc to buy a CR, some roses for the wife, and bank the rest. The R is my 3rd Buell out of the 26 bikes I have owned since I was 8 years old (started in the dirt) and my favorite was my custom 1997 S1, my old 69' Honda Mini Trail is a close second, the world was big at 9 years old and 20 miles from home was like a Bilbo Baggins adventure, if the 1125 keeps it up it might take over the throne, I really like it.

After spending two days on the track on a BMW 1000RR and then my first track day on my 1125r, I will not be buying a BMW anytime soon.
Not that I don't continue to think that the BMW is an incredible bike, but I have a renewed appreciation for the awesome handling, and general bad-ass fun of my 1125r.
I've had girlfriends like the BMW - powerful but well mannered, beautiful in their own way, fun if you encourage them to be, tries to keep you safe, predictable, fast, reliable, expensive, trophy.

My current and, I hope permanent girlfriend, is feisty, a little unpredictable, until you learn her quirks, then she is very reliable, super fast out of the blocks, will let you screw up, uniquely gorgeous, begs to be ridden fast, loud when you do, rewards good riding technique, spanks you when it's bad.
So like my girlfriend, I'm going to be keeping the Buell. It's just a great, unique, fun, fast ride, that sets me apart from the trophy bike crowd.
