First ride a month ago on my brand new 2008 1125R. A short blast of 10 miles on the first 45 degree day in the Northeast. The bike was fun, bring it in the garage and it turns into the Exxon Valdez. Snap a couple pics and bring it to my dealer, Manchester HD/Buell in New Hampshire and tell them the problem. The GM say's do not ride it and we will come pick it up. I get a call a couple days later and they say bad news/good news. You will be out a bike for 3-4 weeks, the good news, your getting a 2010 motor. Sure enough, got my bike back today with a new 2010 motor, new charging wire sub-harness, new flash. This is the 5th bike I have bought from them since 1997 and the 3rd Buell, they have the best Buell parts guy, great Buell service tech and all around perfect dealership. The thing that really stood out for me was the GM telling me not to worry your bike will be better than new and they treat people who bought Buell's the same way as if I bought a $30,000 CVO.
The old motor had an internal machining/casting flaw that effected some 2008's and puked oil up thru the breather and oil came pouring out the airbox, surprisingly it didn't get sucked into the throttlebody's and the motor seemed to run fine.

The new motor even has a matching VIN#, HD must match the VIN to the service record and somehow gets it stamped on the new motor.

Glad to hear the dealership took such good care of you!

I admit, I'm jealous of the '10's sight glass. Why those weren't on the previous ones is beyond me.

No badging at all. Very cool though. Congrats on the new motor.

Yeah, the tech asked if I wanted to order the 1125R clutch decal and the 2 Pegasus emblems for the pucks and I said don't bother, I like it better without. I was invited out to the service floor, they let me take pics and I asked lots of questions of the swap and got answers. He really did a great job of reassembly and took his time, if he had any doubt he was able to call the factory direct and get answers to his questions. HD must have kept some Buell employee's on board because I doubt HD would have had the answers to the stuff we asked. I am not going to bust ball's over some stickers when they really went above & beyond on doing this job right. I built an S1 from the connecting rods up into a sweet ride and looked at the work they did on my bike, kind of a similar build but these new bikes have way more parts, water & electronics & lots of sensors & cables compared to the kit bike S1. Heres my first Buell, built motor, chrome frame, carbon everything else.

That was one of the first Factory Buell race exhausts made on that S1.
The pics on a previous post of the Buell race for the 1125 brings back memories, that new pipe is a piece of art just like the old. Eriks factory Buell stuff is the best and was the best, if I didn't have twins going to collage I would have that put on during the engine swap for free labor.
I do like D_Adams slip-ons, especially the RT-3, kinda like the old S1 race. D put an elbow turnout on that RT-3 and get the muffler a little more horizontal and I am buying.

Glad to hear you had a experience with customer service.

I called a dealer today(not a badweb sponsor) and asked if I gave them my vin if they could tell me what recalls have to be done on the bike. I knew what recalls have to be done thanks to the badweb. So I give the man my vin and he tells me that everything is showing up to date. I said well I know my bike needs the 062 flash and the gauge cluster replaced with the 09 cluster. His story changed afterwards. I did find out that the harness recall does not effect my bike.

Hey xb9er, running the VIN on HDnet wont tell a dealer a single thing about what flash you're running or if your IC needs to be replaced. It doesn't work that way. IC was never a recall or product/safety campaign, just a part that gets replaced if there is an issue.

Those are some great pictures. Especially the one of the entire front end an upper frame sitting to the side and the other one of just the swingarm connected to the engine. The 1125r is truly a work of art.

That oil inspection window is nice too, wish my 09 had that.
