i recently put my fmf slip on and ebr race ecm on, and loved the sound, feel of the bike, except at idle, when it sounded like an appache helicopter. I contacted ebr racing, and asked them to lower the idle, and also connect the BAS, as i was one of the first ordered. After warm up, the bike idles at 1200 or so, and it now sound f n great...not so loud as to attract attention, just a deep mellow sound. If any of you guys order the race ecm, and have a slip on, i highly recommend you ask to have the idle set at 1200. Also, they were very gracious when i had them reprogram the ecm, Michael showed me around the shop, and all i can say is you are going to home coming, you are going to see some sweet bikes, past present and future.   | ||

interesting. I very much dislike the helicopter idle of my rt5. | ||

Does lowering the idle keep the bike from "not liking" speeds under 17 mph? | ||

actually on the contrary, parking lot duty feels easier with a lower idle. | ||

Interesting. If I go with an EBR ECM (still waiting to see what tune Easyrider comes up with for the Barker exhaust), I'll be sure to ask them to set the idle around 1200rpm as well. The Barker sounded like an Apache at idle so I installed the quiet core. If the lower idle quiets it down, I may well take out the QC. | ||
