Was having a play as I really want the tail that's fitted to the 1190R - so, to see what it would look like -

Ok, so I only did it in paint and I don't have any skills, but you get the idea !
But I have been led to believe that it's going to be quite a big job to fit it and you will also need a new airbox as it won't mate up to the standard Buell offering.

I just asked ebr about that tail also and it's completly diff subframe. I was pretty bummed. They do have the 1125rr fairings for sale they just aren't on the site yet.

The problem is that it will cost a fortune because it will be made of some exotic materials - I heard somewhere that the subframe is made of a magnesium alloy and the undertray is carbon fibre.

from the email the sent me....We can provide the complete rear section, although you will need to custom fabricate wire harness changes. The subframe is a magnesium cast piece using some innovative processes, and is quite light. The tail body piece will be available in either carbon fiber or fiberglass, and the battery/electrical component tray is in carbon fiber. The battery that goes with this is of lithium nanotechnology with a built in circuit board to balance charging and silicone damping internals. This battery is in our website catalog already.....}

i for one will be looking at this when it avaliable..

Awesome, I will be as well. Hopefully its not a couple grand for it!

That subframe is just sexy from the pics posted on the quick board. I love the support bracing.
From the looks the actual body work is pretty simple, could even be made DIY.

Wonder if those were passenger peg mount holes?

Jake -

Any word on when fairings will be available? I emailed EBR a few weeks ago about this and haven't heard back from them yet... Thanks

So the 1125rr fairings are available if you call? Do you know how much they cost? Or if you can use the side fairings with a 1125r stock street front fairing? I need headlights.

Poppinsexz, it's a single seat unit, no passenger - the holes in the picture are the bodywork/seat mount points I would have thought.

I'm sure a heavier, cheaper subframe could be made, once the tail piece becomes available - I'm not talking about ripping EBR's design - perhaps an agreement could be reached with EBR if they were not interested in making it themselves.

If a new sub frame was made, it could be made lower to better reach the ground, if you have short legs.

Just thinking out loud and wondering if that subframe had originally been used on the Barracuda II. I know this bike is a single but a street version may have come set up for 2.

Nix all, I just saw the pic in cycle world and those are pass peg mount holes.

Looks like the same subframe to me:

Speculation about the bike indicates a displacement of 1199cc with much less weight and more horsepower than the current 1125R, it's the kind of bike you would build if you were planning on World Super Bike competition, or more to the point, the bike you would build as a true, no compromise, world class American sport bike.

It's called the Barracuda, it has chain drive, new ZTL(4?) brake system with redesigned wheels, top clamp mounted steering damper, horsepower rumored to be north of 180, and has very few parts carried over from the current 1125 models. The bike is basically production ready and was in final shake-down testing (the photo above) when the axe fell on the Buell Motor Company

ughhhh that bike is ridiculously cool. So jealous!

I dont need 180hp(sure I would take it!), I can barely handle what the 1125r gives me. But that looks is dead sexy. The line that comes off the side faring, and goes into the airbox.... And that subframe is a work of art.

Poppinsexz, apologies, I stand corrected !

I need to get that magazine, but it's going to be difficult locating one in the UK. When is it due to hit the newsstand - it will take at least 2 weeks after that to hit the shelves here.
