Hello everyone,

I am about to put my new fmf pipe on my bone stock 1125R.
I have heard from other riders I need Erics new "pump gas ECM"?
I want the best running, not hurting my bike setup I can... Of course.
I don't race her, but I want it to sound like somthing...
But I'm afarid of running her to lean... I don't want to hurt her.

Do I need that ECM for best performace? Or can I run that pipe as is without damage??

Thanks!!!!

You asked two different questions there. The ECM will get you the best performance. You can run the pipe without damage. For $250 I would get the ECM.

Hey Bartman, you didn't believe me huh. LOL. I think, barring a retune of the stock ecm, the best bet for your bike's happiness would be the pump gas ecm. I am sure, most around here would agree with that.}

Oh I believed you...
That was just not what I wanted to hear the day before I was going to put on my new 500$ pipe, that i needed a 260$ Ecm...

I am going to still put it on tommorow, she is on the lift at GRC right now! I just hope I don't hurt it any before I get the $$$ for the new Ecm.

I hope the race ECM does not void warrenty??

Thanks for turning me on to Erics new site, I had not seen that before.

Going for the gusto tommrow! Hope it's not going to be tooo lean!

Thanks again! Trust me I believed what you said...
More $$$.... :-(
I hope

If you have engine troubles down the line do yourself a favor and swap your stock ECM back in before you take it in for warranty work. Warranty covers original equipment, if a part on the bike is not OE it can cause problems for warranty. Just dont throw the stock one out

Also my dealer said I had to put the stock pipe back on to properly diagnose the problem, which is bs, but do yourself a favor and keep the stock ecm and pipe and if you have any problems put them on before you take it to service.

bartman, i installed an fmf slipon on my 2009cr the day i picked it up. However, i did not change the air filter or modify the airbox. i then had the latest flash(52 for cr) done and the bike ran great. the afvs stayed at 100f/100r with no cel or codes. it ran so good that i was going to leave it alone....but the ebr ecm, and the k&n filter were calling my name. ecm and filter installed about 200 miles ago and this thing ROCKS!! much smoother and quieter(don't understand that) and pulls like a freight train completely through the rpm range.(haven't been over 9500 yet). also, i did not use the quiet insert. hope this helps. terry

Bartman. I was just kidding about not believing me. It is always good to get other opinions. Good luck with the FMF and I will see you around sometime this summer.

I am currently using the FMF slip-on, with a race ECM K&N and removed the inner air box. Stock ECM was fine with the pipe, but putting the Race ECM was like night and day. HOLY CRAP, usable power all the way through the RPM range. extra boost above 4K. I have ridden big bore bikes my whole life, with exception of dirt bikes, well last dirty was a 490, so guess that qualifies. But the whole set up on my CR just ROCKS. Even scared myself couple of times, and that is hard to do.

And guys if you need the ECM to show proper speedo reading on the CR, just email EBR, they graciously changed mine for me. Just ship it to them Michael is the programmer and he will help you out. They answer email on the weekend too.

Just installed the FMF, sounds awsome!!
Very happy! Too cold to ride, but sounds and looks great! Shaved 15# off too...

You will see me Maul!, I would love to see two 1125rs crusing the Maine woods next to each other!

Thanks for all the input! Gonna save for the race Ecm and a k&n...

Thanks again!
