I was adjusting the forks the other night to make them just a hair stiffer and I noticed when I hold the front brake and compress the suspension the right fork makes a little clicking/pop noise. (I didn't force or over turn the forks incase you are asking)

I think its the right front because I can kind of feel it in my right hand.

I don't know if this is something new or something that has always been there, as I never really worked the suspension up and down like this.

The bike also makes this popping noise on aggressive braking on the right front as well. It has done that from the day I bought it.

when I ride I don't notice anything wrong other then the slight pop on hard braking.

Is this normal?

There was a thread on this somewhere. I believe that they came to the conclusion that it was a 'normal' thing. Especially after a bike sits for awhile.

Some one may be able to follow up with more.

I started a thread a couple of weeks ago on this same thing. Mine was more of a clunk than a click, realizing of course it's hard to put a noise into words.

I had 825 miles on it when I parked it for winter. Never made a sound in the front. After sitting a couple of months on the sidestand, it did the first time I moved it.

Compressing the front forks makes a clunk noise, one I can hear easily. When I put the bike back on its sidestand, it makes the same clunk noise.

It sounded plausible that it was fork oil related, but the more I tracked the source of the noise, the more it seemed to be just under the triple tree area.

I put 125 miles on it this weekend - Country highways, full of corners. The bike rode perfectly, but was still clunking in the front when I parked in Sunday.

Yeah its the same with me. I can hear the sound but the bike rides just fine. I just don't know what it is. i have about 3K miles on it.

I do let it sit all week and then ride the hell out of it on the weekends. You are right it is more of a Clunk. I can feel it in my right hand on hard braking.

I really think it has done it from the time i bought it I just never noticed it till now.

Seems a lot of cartridge type forks clunk when at static sag. My GSXR-750 did, my 1125 does and my bikes never sit living in SD. I have an idea as to what it is (coated bushings) but no real knowledge to contribute!

mine is more of a click, but same deal. Sounds like its under the triple tree, and only does it from time to time.

I know mine didn't do until just recently, perfectly quiet the first 800 miles. It doesn't ride any differently, and I don't feel anything in my hands ... Just hear the clunk. Sounds like mine's not unique, but 'normal' isn't a word I usually assign to unexplained noises. That said, love this '09R like no bike I've ever owned!!

Mine has always done it since new, almost 7000 mi now. Have read several threads that says it's normal. I can detect no play in the steering bearings and it still feels very solid in hi-speed corners even at deep lean angles. Don't know if we should worry or not.
