Hi guys,
Thanks again for your help!

Beside what the manual online is showing about the 600 miles maintenance.. Am I not supposed to torque some bolt??

One more thing, My fork is loose... When I push it to the garage, the driveway is not perfect so I can hear a little clang...noise. Also when I ride for the past few days, I noticed a little difference..

Any idea?
Thanks again,

Basically just give it an overall nut and bolt check.

I'd check the folk bolts, if you find any loose then loosen up all of them below the upper tree including the axle pinch bolt. Then hold the front brake and bounce the front end a little. Then tighten all the bolts to spec. That brings the forks back to where they need to be in relation with each other.

At the risk of hijacking, question about that fork noise. My '09R wasn't making any noise when I parked it for the winter. But when I moved it a few weeks ago, I noticed a loud noise (clunk/clank) in the front fork area.

I thought it was fork oil that had settled, but it actually sounds more like it's coming from just below the triple tree area. I posted a thread about it, and got some good input. So the question >> Is it safe to ride with the noise?

Yep it's safe, if it's the same noise I have been hearing from time-time for the last 32,000 s'miles.

To Milleniumx1, no problem

Thanks for making my questions smarter or better.

Also, is it cover by the warranty? after just 600 miles already the fork being a bit loose?

Thank You guys for your help,

Are you here to ask maintenance questions or promote your real estate business?

I talked again about the fuel light going off non stop, he is going to see what he can do... last time they could not replicate the problem..... but this was at the Mancuso 610 and crossroads in Houston, which I believe they SUCK

Max, I rode mine yesterday with that front-end clunk. It rode just like I remembered some weeks ago - No issue at all. Still clunking when I got home. Not a fan of strange noises ; )

BTW, what Avc is saying is probably something to consider. This is great forum, but a signature that promotes an unrelated business is going to rub some folks wrong. Something to think about ...

Hi Millenium,

Obviously it does...

I prefer to do some bizz with someone who has the same hobby or passion than with a dork that I do not connect with.

I thought by adding my signature, it would be welcome according that I am giving a significant discount and by meeting bikers at the same time...

oh well, the world loves to be at war.

Bitching is always easier that being positive..

have a wonderful day in a wonderful world

Didn't feel like starting a new thread, and since this one seems to have the questions answered and problems solved, I'll just tag it in here:

For my 620 mile service I am doing the oil/filter change myself, as well as topping off the coolant, checking the master/slave reservoirs, and checking all electronic/hydraulic connections. I'll also be using the service manual to check the torque on all the fasteners that are easily accessed.

My question is what else does the dealer do (I'm going to Frederick, MD H-D) that may not be listed in the FSM? The reason I'm taking it in at all is to get the stator "improvement" completed as well as a general check-up of the ECM for codes.

I just don't want them charging me for stuff I don't need — if I walk in and say "this is all the stuff I've done for the 620 mile service, I just need you to finish it off," I don't want them to go through the motions and charge me for actions I don't need. Just seeing if there are any outliers I'm not aware of.

Thanks!

You just can't make money from here without the "board" getting there portion....

I did wonder how long that sig would last lol......

Its funny how i hear all this bad stuff from mancuso... i bought my bike from their store on 59 south. I didn't get the best deal and i could have gotten better, but i did get some other items to compensate the deal.

never been to the service dept though..

Jeepinbueller,
Sounds like you have it all covered, unless I too am missing something?

There is also a maintenance schedule listed in the owners manual, which I am sure you are already aware of though.

I have no vested interests in sponsors or signatures, just trying to let Max know that it's likely to draw fire here ... I don't make the rules, but do try to respect them as best possible when I'm a guest.
