I picked up 2008 buell 1125r (stock) used from our local bike shop. Love the bike but looking to do some modds, just wanted some opinions... I'm thinking barkers slip-on with a new ecm and a k&n air filter. I only gave $5,800 for the bike with 1100 miles, planning on getting the recals fix fisrt, has anyone delt with appleton and if so are they good people?

Congratulations on the new bike!
Good price!
Can't help you with the Dealer, but I am sure someone on here can.

I put an HMF and a K&N on my '08 1125r and the thing rips. It's a bit loud but looks 110% better than the stock pipe...

Appleton WI or TN? WI is typically excellent, TN not so much but is improving from what I have read.

Tbones1125r did you do any mapping or anything after fitting the HMF + K&N ?

I fitted the HMF on my 08 but was going to wait until i had fueling checked before adding the filter

Welcome to the fold. Guess you mean the guys in TN? I know that Bud's in EVV doesn't sell Buells anymore, since 2002 IIRC (I only bought 2 of my 5 from them).

Best Buell dealer around IMHO is Bumpus in Murfreesboro, well worth the drive. I'm here 30 miles east of Nashville in Lebanon TN. Give us a shout sometime or I'll wave when i ride by to EVV.

Avalaugh - I did not...IMO, the fuel injection will adjust to the more free flowing pipe and air filter. I see tons of guys remapping and tinkering with the air/fuell mix. I'm the type that, if it works, ride...if I see that it doesn't run as well, then I'll tinker...for now, I just want to ride it...a lot...
