As Court posted here somewhere it is also good to communicate clearly to the MFR your VIN, modifications, intended use, etc so they can help you effectively.

I got caught out by the BAS when I put my ECM in but rather than jump on the board here and start posting ZOMG my ECM is bad!!! I simply emailed EBR and in less than an hour had the solution.

When in doubt go to the source. And Badweb is anything but the source...that should be abundantly clear from the posts in these ECM threads...

Plus +3. Trust your source for anything. Everybody has some kind of agenda. Trust and integrity is a necessity for me.

trouble persists ...

any other thought?

i guess i will re contact EBR and try to understand what else can be done.
do you guys have any other suggestion?

Send back the ECM and have a new one?
I'm not questinoning EBR or others.
i'mafraid the map does not fit with my pipe...
can happen.
and if even the ECM has a bug, i do not care, can happen too.
i just want to solve the issue.

Disconnect sidestand switch. Easy to find: should be on the switch by the sidestand. Hope that resolves the issue.

The Sidestand connector is behind the cover for the front pully. I believe....

Morpheuz, Send the ECM back, and ask for a new one, the problem is inside the ECM..

ok,
i've solved.

i disconnected the sidestand switch and now the bike runs fine, really fine.

Thanks god...

i need more miles to understand if the bike gain something in gas response and performances in the low ranges.

bike runs smooth now even if it always kick you in the ass when exit the corners.

thanks to everyone.

i'll be back soon with more details, while a couple or track days will be done.

ciao!

Well that was a lot of hoop-a-la over a silly sidestand switch! I'm glad to hear it runs well now - I also have the HPE and am considering the EBR Ecm as well - please keep us updated with your impressions.

Makes sense to me. It was posted that EBR would move the ignition interrupter to the sidestand switch on the US models.

either way glad to hear its running better.

so, what's happening to the side stand switch during ride that it impacts ignition?

The EBR folks are using the ECM input for side stand switch to control electronic shifter (since no side stand switch used on US bikes). So, if you connected to side stand switch, ECM was thinking you were trying to shift based upon receiving input from that switch.

On the US Race ecms, EBR opted to move the quick shifter ignition interrupter to the side stand switch since our bikes don't have them. originally it was on the BAS switch since race bikes don't use that. a few people got their Race ECM's and the bas was sending a little voltage telling the ECM to interrupt the ignition.

Morpheuz has a European bike which has both the BAS and side stand switch. the sidestand switch normally reads voltage when up signifying the kick stand is up. the issue with that was the ECM interpreted that voltage as a quicker shifter voltage and was interrupting the ignition... had Morpheuz tried to ride the bike with the sidestand down it would have ran fine (i don't recommend that) in this case he just disconnected and as far as the ECM is concerned the quicker shifter is in limbo...

I've ridden my bike with the side stand down. The very first left hander was an eye opener!

The shifter requires voltage to change to get triggered. So, why does voltage from the sidestand switch change during ride? How do you know the sidestand input pin is used as shifter input? Last time it was for sure the BAS input.

hey,
yes i was thinking to try running with the kickstand out but....
i preferred to disconnect the switch first.

Now the bike is running with:
1) BAS disconnected and located as for the figure (the relocation followed the mod of Freespirits air scoop)

2) sidestand switch, which is located as for the figure below

and now completely unplugged!

Glad I was able to direct you with some useful information.

RIDE ON!

Please contact EBR if you have issues with their products. An internet chat board is not really the best source for information on this product.

Side stand voltage doesn't change, its either 0 or 5 volts. i guess when its up its at 5 volts.}

I know that the sidestand switch is now the shifter because EBR has told me and a few others which since then have posted it on here to inform others...
