Any sponsors selling for less than retail?

Yeah I know I'm cheap, yeah I know I need one.

Thanks

I wonder if the 2010 manuals will go down in price. There are probably a lot more manuals than bikes

Does the 2010 manual have many updates that were learned after the 2009 was published? Like different torque specs etc.

Not sure where all the H-D dealers are on this issue, but HD of SLC tells me that unless it is a warranty item, they cannot order any Buell parts - the quote was "I can't even get you a spark plug unless it breaks". There are a few dealers (Boise) who have bikes on the floor and have access to parts and manuals. Best bet may be Ebay.

Stirz007, that statement is a load of BS, to be blunt. Spend your money at a dealer that wants it, not at a dealer that will fight you because they clearly don't want it.

I got my 2010 manual at the local dealer for 20% off. I'm holding out for a parts book for a deeper discount. I hope.

I may get the extended warranty next year just to cover my butt for 7 years on parts. Having the warranty will give the best leverage for repair in case something goes wrong. That is if HD is still around in 7 years.

Froggy - I've got no issue with HD-SLC: these guys have always done me right, and I do not believe this to be a BS statement. That's the situation they are in - For whatever reason, they can only support warranty work and cannot order new/accessory parts from HD. I wanted the electric service manual and covers for my 1125 and XB. These are good cats all the way to the Owner - the word I got was that this comes all the way from Milwaukee - maybe not, but that's the skinny. Please enlighten me as to why this is a BS statement.

I have bought over a dozen parts in the last few months from various Buell dealers (not SLC), for various Buell models, and have gotten everything in a timely fashion. The only thing I actually had to wait on (more than a week) was a radiator pod cover. If they don't want to make money off you, its their loss, because any other dealer will.

If they told you that . . they are either:

  • genuinely stupid
  • innocently ill informed
  • not wanting to do business with you

None of them traits I'd list on my resume'.

In addition to the parts . . you need to be shopping for another dealer.

Court - I'd have to go with "B" on this one. It seems there are those who are awfully quick to indict or trash a dealer they don't know, IMO. I have had extremely good experience with this particular dealer in stepping up when needed. But - point well taken in that there apparently are other dealers "still on the grid".

I tend to agree.

Dealers tend to get caught up in hyperbole and rumors. They really mean no harm but they hear something from a DM (Disinformation Manager) and it spreads like wildfire from one shop to the next.

Sometimes it is possible to ask them politely to look the part up. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

The good news is that there are a host of BadWeB sponsors you can get you what you need at a fair price and get it to you promptly.

My basement is littered with stuff I don't need including the belt that came from American Sport Bike a couple weeks ago. I guy stuff just for an excuse to talk to Al.

We're really pretty lucky in the world of Buell. Between American Sport Bike, Liberty and a host of dealers here on BadWeB I can always get what I need quickly.
