Maybe making it easier to determine which exhaust is too loud, if you want to change from stock.

Well, then you guys had better setup some parameters for the testers as the distance and angle of the where the reading is taken makes a difference..then there is the accuracy of the gauge itself. Sorta like dyno testing, I am not sure how valid comparisons from separate members would be.

^I know some tracks mostly in the west have db measurements. Laguna is the only one that comes to mind tho.

I haven't been to a track day or race, both club racing and AMA races that do have a db measurement tool but finding one at a track seems to be the easiest way to go.

Where we race at has a 105 db limit and they check you on the straight away. Summit point in Va.

Laguna is the only one that I know of, I think the absolute limit is 102Db. Anything other than stock generally gets a black flag. They are dead serious about the noise restrictions there and that is the reason why I have never done a track day, eventhough I want to. Many have to return their bikes to stock then back again afterwards. Since I have not modified the exhaust yet on my CR, I was thinking about taking it to Laguna. I missed a late deal for a track day for only $180, usually they are in the $320 to $350 range.

Like other tracks built before suburban sprawl, things change eventhough residents are warned time and time again about the noise conditions. Laguna at one time was in the middle of nowhere, but as people with big bucks moved in the rules changed.

Middle of no where??? Hell, it was a damn Military base!
But, your point is correct. Had the same problem near here with a duck farm and smell...

Laguna Seca dB limit is 92 for the record. SOme stock exhaust are even black flagged. If you pay more than $300 for a track day, then you got robbed.
