My first born was conceived (or at least shaken together lol) on the back of my X-1

Problem is the two of us are over the rated load on the bike. And I really don't want that to come up with the lil woman. It's easier to just hide the rear pegs.

Hey guys,

I tried asking this once before, but didn't have any luck, so I thought I'd try again.....

Does anyone either own, or, have any first hand knowledge of the Corbin 1125 seat? I have the Corbin XB seat on my R, but it's very squared-off and considerably broader in the front too. The newer dedicated 1125 seat appears to be narrower and shaped better. (at least from their picture on the website) Can anyone confirm this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx, Tracy

Jotrevza,

I do not have experience with the 1125 Corbin, but I can tell you that I bought one for my 04 ZX10R and I would not buy another Corbin. The seat was HEAVY. I mean REAL heavy. On top of that, it was really wide and made it feel weird to shift your body around when prepping for corners. I can't imagine if you are the hanging off type what it would be like. In addition, it was also VERY firm. That being said, I had a Corbin on my 84 900 Ninja and loved it, but the company has changed alot since then from what I understand.

I wish Sargents Seats would make a seat for the 1125. I bought one for my R1200GS and love it. Plus, they have super customer service.

Oh, did I mention that the Corbin seat was heavy...?

Greg,

Thanx for your response. I agree with you that the Corbin seat(at least the XB seat) is heavy, and not very good for rolling off of. I'm short-legged, so it's even tougher to get along with at stoplights due to the broader profile.

I had Corbin "gunfighter" seats on my older Ninjas and loved them, but that was many moons ago. I currently have A Sargent seat on my Honda 954 and love it! In fact, I had asked Sargent if they were going to make a seat for our bike not long after I bought it, but they said (at the time) that it wasn't likely due to the production numbers.

I was just hoping that maybe the newer, dedicated Corbin seat was a tightened-up version with slimmer profile, height, etc., to fit this particular bike. I know there are several people making custom saddles for them now, so I may have to go that route to find one that's going to work.

Thanx again, Tracy

Tracy,

Even though I have a new Buell comfort seat awaiting delivery of my CR, I would buy I Sargents seat if they made one. I just like the product and customer service that much.

I wonder if it would do any good to start a thread in this and other forums to see how many Buell riders would be serious enough about having Sargents make a seat for it. Your thoughts?

Greg

Greg,

I suppose it never hurts to ask, but, wouldn't it be less likely now that Sargent would start making a seat for this bike, especially since Buell isn't building production bikes anymore?

Thanx, Tracy

Tracy,

I would have to say on the surface that yes it would be less likely.

That being said, it ultimately would depend on the number of Buell owners seriously interested in a Sargents seat. From what I can tell, the XB seats are the same as the 1125, so really, there is a large target audience. I don't know the numbers, but I am sure there is a minimum number of purchases to make it worth-while for Sargents to make one.

Perhaps a survey on the various Buell forums would reveal how many riders are SERIOUSLY interested (as in committed to purchase). Running that number by Sargents would provide the answer.

Hi Frank,

Yeah, I checked out the Baldwin seats too. It seems as though he uses quality materials, and his prices also seemed very reasonable. I guess I just wasn't wild about his seat covering.

The thing is, I do like my Corbin other than the fact that it can stand a little more contouring. That's why I was hoping to find someone who bought the newer 1125 seat from them. It looks to be shaped slightly different (better) than the XB seat, but I can't be sure from the pictures.

I totally agree with Greg on the Sargent seat. If they'd be willing to build one, I'd be all over that! I might just give them a buzz and see if they'd reconsider making one, and if so, what it would take to get that going.....

Later, Tracy

I saw that this morning..

I just bought a used Touring seat (red pegasus is gone on both sides) and its kind of faded... But i paid 45.00 BIN from ebay.

the only issue with it was it was slick as hell.. thus why i started this thread lol

Yea 345.00 either someone REALLY wants it or the owner has a buddy jacking the price up...
For that price i would buy a baldwin unit...and get it customized.
