Hello everyone, on my 08' 1125r, I have had the cluster replaced a year ago to the 09' style with the gear selector display. It gets cold up here in Maine, and at the end of last season I have had the low fuel light come on even with a full tank. Sets a code and everything. I have done some research on the bad web here, and I see many people say this is a bad fuel pump? So I have her at the dealer some warrenty work,(rev b cover, brake line, fuel light issue, free winter storage...  they told me yesterday they were ordering a 3rd cluster?? That buell tech told them that was the most common reason for the fuel light issue?? Has anyone has this issue resolved this way?? I really thought the issue was the fuel pump?? I only have a few months left on my warrenty, so I'm a bit curious... Thanks alot! | ||

I haven't seen anything about a faulty fuel pump but I do know it's often contributed to the fact that the fuel level sensor is a thermistor (sensitive to temperature) so when it's very cold out the sender goes out of range and reports low fuel. Mine does it (and occassionally the engine management light accompanies it). Personally I am just going to ignore it even though the bike's under warranty.. It doesn't seem to effect anything.. | ||

To add to Jules post, apparently the cluster has a software bug that can only be fixed via replacement. It polls a sensor (I forget which) after bike shutdown and if the bike cools enough, the sensor falls out of range and the check engine/LFL lights when you startup the next time. They typically clear up soon after normal operating temperature is reached. There have been some cases where a thermistor on the fuel pump just drift too far out of spec and the lights stay on almost all the time. I believe that's were the fuel pump replacement comes in. I am not going to worry about it as mine come on and shut off quickly after the bike warms up. | ||

The word from Anonymous is that this is resolved in the cluster with SW 6.2 for the 2008 models. However, I'm not convinced because I have the 6.2 cluster and am still experiencing the Fuel/Engine light and code when it's cold out. | ||

im having my fuel pump replaced because the sensors are broken and display out of fuel when its not out of fuel and it also runs out of fuel without the lamp coming on. its fixed under warranty and the dealer told me theyve had several faults like mine. | ||

Chameleon, Did you have your cluster replaced with V6.2 to address the Fuel Light issue? Did you notice any change? I have this problem with my V6.1 cluster. I was hoping V6.2 would solve it. | ||

I had my cluster replaced for a different reason. It is operating on V6.2, but I am still experiencing the Fuel/Engine light issue along with the b1005 code. I didn't get a pic of the lights on, but here are pics of the software version and error message:   |
