I went to the Buell factory in East Troy again today to see what was left at the liquidation sale. Saw a bunch of bikes, maybe a dozen, at the South end which had not been there last week. Talked to one of the Buell people that still work there, got the story that the bikes came back from Brazil and they were putting MPH speedos on them for US sales. Should be a few more in the pipeline soon.

that doesn't make sense cause you can change from mph with imperial gallon readout for fuel econo to mph with us gallon for fuel econo to km/h with liters per 100km for fuel econo with the cluster that comes on them.

My R is a Canadian bike and if i put it into either mph modes everything changes to miles my speedo, odometer, both trip meters

Yes it does make sense, as XB models have two different clusters available. As far as I know there aren't any XB's being brought back though, so who knows. To convert the 1125 back to US spec, depending on where it came from it would may need a different throttle body, frame, kickstand switch removal, swingarm, throttle cables, muffler, rear fender, and some warning labels. Oh and they would need to reflash the bike too.

The guy I spoke to mentioned having to do some computer work too.

I didn't think to ask why they brought them back to the US, especially if they are only bringing the 1125's and not the XB's. Why wouldn't they just do the same discount program there?

Court can they support the XB's in Brazil with parts that are built there. If so is that where some of the XB parts will come from to support the US bikes.

I'm speculating that kits were sent from E. Troy to be built/assembled into bikes (with token 'local content') in Brazil for tariff reasons.

What I heard was that there is a shipment enroute as we speak heading back to the US. Two dealerships here in Colo said they may be getting some of these bikes by the end of the month.

Thoughts on why only the 1125's - there are several bikes that are competitive with the 1125's overseas and now that Buell is no more, why buy them (difficulty in getting parts etc). The XB's however are a much more novel bike and therefore more desirable. ?????

"Rumor" ??? What's up with that? Was I dreaming that I saw the bikes and had the conversation with the Buell employee? Or is that just referring to all the speculation and general bs?
