In the Milwaukee paper this AM, there was a picture of a tech rolling a bike onto what looked like a chassis dyno. The caption read that it was from a bunch that were shipped back from Brazil for sale here in the States. | ||

Same thing was reported in an on-line article that included an interview with Erik Buell. They mentioned there were ~50 1125's in the factory which had been returned from Brazil. They are now being converted to U.S. specs and will be shipped out to U.S. dealers. | ||

Interesting...I wonder if these were the same unfinished bikes I saw on the floor when I went to the liquidation sales last week. | ||

FYI: They are not coming back. They were never here. If they are coming from Brazil, they are coming here for the first time as completed bikes. They were "made" in Brazil. | ||

Interesting Barker. I know there had been some discussion here about Buells assembled elsewhere. Mrvdub- according to this article, yep, they're the bikes you saw: "There were also some ghosts at this funeral. A back corner of the warehouse was roped off with caution tape, protecting a lone forklift operator who quietly loaded crated Buell motorcycles onto a semi. Behind another ribbon of tape sat 30-odd 1125CRs, partially disassembled. These were the last remaining Buells, one of the last remaining Buell employees told me. When i picked up my 1125R on tuesday from McHenry HD the sales mgr told me they had a bunch that were supposed to go to Brazil. I think that may be how they have 109 CR's | ||

wierd because they were assembling bikes in brazil....there were several folks from brazil at the home coming...REX | ||

Part of the VIN indicates where the bike was made. Choices are East Troy and Brazil. It will be fun to see a Brazilian Buell. (South) American Made Motorcycles ! | ||

From what was I told by one of the Buell employee's, that the bikes were built here destined for brazil. I had asked if they were built there and he told me no, the only bike that were built in Brazil were the Blasts. He said they had 200 or so bikes to switch over but there were only 50 to 60 left at the factory, and then they were done.... The bikes were all 2009 models. No 1125s or Blasts were built in Brazil. All Brazil built Buells were XBs. | ||

We just got three of them in-one '10 and two '09s- they have US VIN numbers. | ||
