Well the past two days have been something to write about. First it's the end of January and I was able to put on some miles and enjoy my 1125. Having said that I thought I would stop my dealer and talk to my friends and get some insight on the fuel spitting out the bike like lots of people here on the forum. I call it the Buell Drool . To my delight my mechanic says to me that can be warrantied . I said WOW lets do it. So my 09 1125CR got a Cali canister and some hoses and Bam That problem Gone ! While in there lets get the Noid removed and shed some weight. Done ! Man that thing is a waste of space and I wont miss being almost thrown over the bars at WOT any more  While just hanging around and Watching the best friend a Buell owner can have, A Harley trained Buell Tech that knows his stuff and loves Buells I could not help but see how big the Throttle bodies and butterfly's are on this bike. I mean those things could swallow small children ....  But one other thing, the Tech said he could not believe how clean the valves looked while opening the Butterfly's. Now I dont know what Shell puts in their gasoline blends but I can say it works. It's pretty much all I use. I ran all kinds of brands on my Sportster and I can say it was all full of carbon build up. Nothing scientific just an observation. All in all the Buell just runs Great, all the time and the relationship I have with my dealer is PRICELESS Mark | ||

Your dealer warranty installed the canister and hoses that weren't original equipment on a 49-state bike. Hmmmm ... I might have to make a call to mine whom I also have a great relationship with. Never occurred to me! Mike | ||

Interesting, mine puked fuel all over the Dealers floor in their staging area, when mine was getting the new flash. They did not offer any fix for mine, just some shop rags for me to wipe up the gas. I don't have a great relationship with the Dealer, but I have not caused any problems with them either. I didn't even object to wiping up the puddle my rude bike left on their floor. | ||

the big question is, why is it puking on the floor in the first place. i have NEVER scene any other bike do this before. my xb did it ONCE, only right after i over filled it. which is why the hose is there. i dont mind asking the dealer to put the catch can in but the thing is, it should happen to begin with. i have read all the threads on this matter but no one has an explaination for it. Rant over | ||

After seeing under the hood and reading tons of info vapors come off the tank ( Frame ) there is a direct hose under the plastic tank cover that runs to the passenger foot peg area on the left side. Vapors turn back to a solid or fuel and drip from the peg . The canister and the contents in the canister (Charcoal ) prevent this. At least that is how I get it but I may be wrong. All I know is my Buell does not Drool and my garage does not stink to high heaven any more Mark | ||

Treker, that's correct. The CA-spec bikes route that fuel vent line to the underseat canister, and then in turn back to the TB area. The 49-state bikes route that line from the fuel vent to the passenger peg, where it is left to fume/drip. Short of installing the canister and extra hoses, others have minimized this dripping by shortening the line, heat insulation around the frame, etc. I spent $2 on hose, running a line from where I park the bike to the outside of the garage.
