I went to the Novi, MI cycle world show...for the 3rd or 4th year. Not impressed. No BMW, Moto Guzzi, Aprillia, KTM, Ural, and a small HD booth. Economy has hurt this show in a major way.

I like going to see the bikes I don't normally get up close to. The major MFGs are not the highlight for me as much as the smaller outfits, parts vendors, or the like.

Parts vendors were very scarce as well...you couldn't buy some major helmet brands, or had only one dealer with retail prices (Arai, for one).

The Long Beach show paled in comparison to recent years. Victory had a nice display there. Too bad they're doing worse than H-D. Hopefully Polaris won't pull the plug on Victory.

Is Victory doing that bad? They have some cool stuff. I would think that they cannot be doing as bad as their water craft and snow mobiles....All of their areas have to be hurting?

Victory prez, CEO, or whatever stated publicly that something drastic has to change to keep producing motorcycles. The economy has hit ATVs, PWC, and sno-mos really hard which is what was keeping Victory propped up.

They may have cool stuff, but no one is buying it in the numbers that make sense.

The economy needs to recover soon or you may see more than Buell go under...

The NY show had one lonely Buell stuffed in a corner. Hyperpro had a damper there but not model specific. The same vendor had QD? exhaust there (there is a Buell version). I recall seeing a brake guy there with replacement pads. From there I don't remember much more.
