Wow Russ... Funny thread. At least I hope it is funny, because otherwise I would have to consider it just plain sad.

Even for an internet forum some of the comments on here bashing the OP for having a legitimate beef is pathetic. Fanboy much? Buell forum or no, many of the comments on here are not only undeserved but hurt the Buell name and the people who ride them.

Cheddarhead... You are on a whole different level to the point I'm at a loss for words.

In any case, Once upon a time 3 people in Iowa bought 1125Rs. One is Syonk, another is me, and the third is another person who has read this thread but neglected to post. I can't say I blame him, as after reading much of this thread I must say I had very little desire to participate in this board. But at the end of the day it is an internet forum and life goes on so here I am. In any case, Syonk and the other guy both bough their bikes from the Ames, IA dealer. The other guy has already sold his Buell and purchased a Honda due to his issues with the dealer despite my best efforts to talk him out of it. Fortunately for me I purchased mine from the Davenport dealer and have had a much better experience. I have to say if I had the same experiences that the other two did, I may well be looking to sell my Buell as well. Both guys were straight lied to about what was done on the bikes, and treated like crap when they wanted the issues repaired.

I'll leave it up to Russ if he wants to link the "other" forum that his post here was copied from. I for one think the thread is a good read, and I laid out my thoughts and opinions in great detail. However, given some of the maturity shown here, I hesitate to open that can of worms.

In closing, I will say that the 3 of us had a great ride last October on our Buells. I am sad that so soon one is already sold, and another may be on its way because I really do think they are great bikes.

Front to back: Mine, Russ', and the "other guy"

But, what do I know? I'm just another BMW marketing rep

Back in reality, that's pretty much what I've heard in every single review of the S100R - that it's a brilliant, wonderfully engineered bike that makes it incredibly easy to confidently go fast.

Well if it's European the mags ALWAYS cream their pants. What exactly did you expect?

I am ecstatic. One less "rant" we will have to listen to. I wish more people took this approach.

Flame away.

============

I think I'm getting tired of the Buell 1125R Ownership Experience. And, an Experience it is.

For those not keeping track, I've had my 2008 Buell 1125R for about 4 months now. I've put around 3500 miles on it, mostly commuting around town on the highway, with some longer weekend rides mixed in.

No, I'm not keeping track. You had some issues with your machine purchased;1.) the recalls were taken care. 2.) The turn signals were fixed. 3.)You did not like the way you were NOT treated at the H-D dealership.

Qcdstick; it doesn't look like you are at a loss for words on the keyboard? WTF. Let's please unveil the 3rd entitlement goof in the bunch who needs to have Roundel sunshine blown up their arse. Don't like what I think about your GQ lifestyle? Don't tell complete strangers to "flame away" at your pity party. And take your soft sell/grifting/con out of my motorcycling. Stating an opinion, finding problems and solutions is one thing, but shitting on Buell with a Bayerischen turd in an H-D wrapper is another pile o' poseur-de-latte. Sell your Buells to someone here in the Classifieds who will gladly take what you think is unworthy. (Otherwise, you girls have been amusing the way you try to run the usual electronic dog-pile, conspiracy/hater pointing, blahblahblah.)

We'll miss Buells at the Cycle World bike shows, but there won't be any BMWs there either? Oh my-must be putting all their resources into WSBK? ;-0

What you ride says a lot about your personality..

I ride Buells because I love them as motorcycles and its not a butt hole(everyone has one) bike like the millions of GSXRs,R1s,CBRs,etc.

A friend of mine bought a CBR1000 the other day. He ask me what I thought about it.. I told him it looks just like all the other 5000 CBRs on bike night in Atl.
Other than that it looks good..

I just never have liked riding something that looks like everyone else on the street.

Just my 2 cents

Ok, I've had enough. I'm not selling *my* Buell - I'm just riding it out of here. The degree of flaming and general attitude on this forum just makes it really desirable to be elsewhere. Bye.

It is a shame that the 1125 section has to be full of assholes, the other 98% of Badweb is great. Stop over in the Big Bad and Dirty section once in a while, nothing but cool heads over there.

I agree with that. It seems if youre not drunk on Buell-aid here, youre told to sell your bike and leave. People would probably take that advice if the bikes were worth any more than the metal they are made out of.

So I ride my Buell too. and my 3 Ducati's..And my 2 BMW's..and my Moto Guzzi..and my DR650..and my Gas Gas..heck..I even ride my Royal Enfield Diesel.. What does that say about my personality..According to Cheezepuff that would mean I am a latte drinking snobbish poofter because there are a couple BMW's (One of which I have been riding since the Reg Pridmore days BTW)in the fleet. Course I really can't respect that narrow minded an individuals opinion..and I certainly will not restrict myself to owning, riding, or talking about just one brand or type of bike.
To the OP..You bought a very focused high performance motorcycle..and bought the first model year. It's going to have a few teething pains, that doesn't mean the bike is bad. Then you were dealing with an incompetent dealer. Find a better one. There are good dealers and bad dealers representing every brand of motorcycle out there. Buy a BMW to go along with your Buell, then when you are bored with one or waiting on service you can ride the other. Buy a dual sport bike too..that is a whole nuther aspect of riding I bet you haven't experienced. But In my opinon you are making a mistake if you give up on a bike because of a few trifling problems.

Cheesehead give it a rest man. Your internet bully routine is stale. Good forums won't tolerate that sort of invective and I honestly can't see why the admins here let it continue.

Of all the bikes other than Buell I probably would want to own an older BMW more than anything else with a Moto Guzzi Lemans coming in a close second to the Beemer. I bet I've put more miles on my Buells than you've ridden cumulatively in your entire life. Only a D-bag with a need for attention would carry on like you have been these past few pages. HD and BMW make some great bikes. Although I do carry some resentment toward HD these days for axing Buell.

What you need is a good sorting out face to face from a latte-drinking snob.

Dammit my foam is cold now. See what you did?

Yes I can be an a hole and a douche bag.
But you asked for it (flaming)... you got it... I'll apologize for getting drawn into this thread,
but since I'm here I'll finish with this...
@syonic... I saw the pic of your 3 1125rs' together and thought of this...I nearly pissed my pants...

Cheers,

Mike

Right on Hairy! I dig my '08 1125r for all those reasons and more...no problems with it thus far, except that the rear tire spins a little in the corners and the front wheel levitates...I checked my warranty but it is silent on those issues...I like the individuality that all my bikes provide...I can count on two hands the # of BMW R11s's I've seen since I bought mine in 2005...Seen a ton of 450x's on the trails, few 250x's...a zillion sportsters, hardly any Sportster Sports (5 or 6 in the 3 years I've owned the bike)...at least hear in New England. Motorcycling is a great fraternity but there's always a few...

Simpler to tag onto a thread than start another; apologies if it's already been posted, because I haven't read the whole thread having smelt the burning flesh from all the flames:

AMCN magazine reported today that "Harley's decision last year to spend U$125 million to shut down Buell has generated negative publicity detrimental to the company's image, and is being questioned by Harley stockholders. . . Harley stockholders, who question why the board opted to spend the (amount) on shutdown costs at a time when the company is struggling to regain profitability".

Redscuell..yeah that is the golden question..Doesn't seem to make sense with the information that we have. There has got to be more to this story.
