http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Buell-1125R-2009-Bu ell-1125R-Damaged-Great-Deal-NO-RESERVE_W0QQcmdZVi ewItemQQhashZitem3a56e5c73cQQitemZ250566002492QQpt ZUSQ5fmotorcycles#v4-34

a broken frame like this without any accident?
maybe a piano from the sky?
Now I'm a little worried.

Have you seen the pics? If you smash into a car, even at very low speed, forks and front tire would have some damage.

Probably the result of a 300 or 400 lb guy doing a wheelie and bringing it down too hard........Get that boy on the biggest loser....

Yep sure looks like too many hard touchdowns from wheelies, i did similar to a Fireblade a few years back.

How hard would you need to land it to do that? (that's a rhetorical question)

It looks as though it's been dropped off of a very high building..that's amazing!

Look at the rear tire. There is almost no wear. why wouldn't they have taken it back to the dealer? I have seen them replace frames on bikes before for insurance claims.

there are only some little scratches on the left side, like he was standing still, and the bike fell off.

Interesting that the frame broke well away from the welds, at least from what you can see.

There are some scratches on the clutch cover. I'm thinking he drove it off a loading dock at slow speed. It landed on the front tire.

Hey if my fork truck "drivers" can back a fork truck off a loading dock then this is well within the realm of possibility! It did happen in AR so you can never tell what was said just before.............. "Hey Y'all, hold my beer and WATCH THIS!!!!!!!"

Palmer,

How can you say "without any accident"? First off, this is a 1125R. As you notice the entire fairing is gone. I'm betting he hit something up high that broke the fairing. They don't just break.

I think I found the cause of the problem. (Notice the HD sticker on the rear of the tail.)

Sad thing is it still has the temporary tags. Sounds like someone grabbed a handful of throttle and smacked something. You can see how the right controls are turned way up. I'm betting he hit something at an angle that caused that damage.

It wasn't spontaneous frame breakage.

This reminds me of the infamous issue that the 05 GSXR1000 had frame issues. A guy smacks a wall at over 100 and the frame breaks. Then, everyone starts to freak out just like Palmer and it spreads like wild fire.

I don't want to freak out, BUT something seems quite strange to me.
Obviously everyone can imagine a front smash, but take a look: front rim is OK, disc is ok, forks are not bent, front fender doesn't have any scratches. The only scratches you can see are on the left side, like he felt off at very low speed.
Let me tell you, probably he fell in a big hole on the tarmac at high speed.

Palmer, if he would've fallen in a big hole at high speed, the bike would be damaged a lot more than this.

My first guess was that he smacked a tree like was posted in the other thread. Let's go over there and end this thread. : )

Bottom line, I wouldn't worry about the frame cracking unless blunt force was applied (ie, hitting an immovable object).

Be worth it just for the extra engine, tranny, wheels....etc etc.

But its not spontaneous bust-tion. ; )

Something definitely happened while riding/moving it as there is obvious damage on the left side.

My guess is a large truck vs the front of the bike, be it a collision or a parked bike the results would be similar

the height of the truck and the resulting down force would cause the that damage,

Thats obviously the work of an U. S. Air Force precision airstrike. 1 bullet, 1 kill.

For a second I thought I was looking at a "V-Rodded" 1125 : p

That actually looks pretty cool...if you are into that sort of thing.

My guess is a jump with a hard landing. The guy went Evel Knievel on it. I broke a shock on my X-1 when I caught some air on a berm doing some evasive manuevering, and I was no more than a foot or so off the ground.

I wonder what the top of the garage door frame looks like?

It looks like they had it tied down in the back of a truck, forgot about it and drove into the garage. The scratches where the handle bar show it hit something as tall as the handle bars.
