Price is right. The only thing holding me back is the visual appearance of the muffler. It is just to blunt. I think it would look great if it were had smoother lines and maybe two smaller outlet tips.

I know many will think that it is performance that matters, but truth told, most of us don't bolt anything on our bikes without considering how it makes the bike look. As bulky as the stock muffler is, it has grown on me and looks like it belongs. I just wish it has a bit more sound.

Just my 2 cents.

-crazyhawk99, that is just crazy talk some here might just go tell you to ride a Harley if you want something pretty but I dont understand that cause theres nothing pretty about a harley. Thats coming from guys who probably have a hog sitting next to there buell. carzyhawk I agree that exhaust is horrifically repulsing, I shudder at the sight, while stainless makes it look slightly more aesthetically appealing it looked like scrap sheet metal in the first place so it still needs a little lovin before it should be sold for such a price. As a consumer of goods, I represent your buying market and I refuse to pay that kind of money for an unfinished product. stock exhaust has no restriction these guys building exhaust never see significant gains in torque because the bike stock is great most of the power gain you see when they stick the exhaust on comes from the tune, I am not saying there isnt a power difference!! I cant wait for the reply to this.

Well I'm not in because I already have the pipe and a tune. I just wanted to say that I like the pipe because it resembles the stock and looks like it is made for the bike, not stuck on like the Jardine and FMF. The sound is perfect and performance is an improvement.

Buellishness has a very good point about the exhaust standing alone for assessment. The foundation for all empirical action is to make one change at a time. Sticking to the same dyno also adds to consistency. mapping software as Buellishness suggested is the key variable.

Pure stock - Step 1. test EBR ($250) and TM maps for power and mileage on a pure stock (denoided) bike and post (TM already has).

slipOn exhaust - Step 2. Use the 2 best maps with the slipon exhaust cans to determine the best combination.

complete exhaust - Step 3. Use these maps with the current exhaust systems to determine the best combination.

Test stock and then Performance tune at each step. Return timing back to stock for the next step. repeat until all steps completed.

post winners;
a winner for low to mid performance and a winner for mid to top end performance.

My guess is that people will decide on where and how they want their power to come in.

Coming from one of the most beautiful bikes ever built a 96 s1, to a CR is like going from a supermodel to the homely girl next door. The 1125's don't have the looks of an S1 but they sure do everything that is asked of them! Badmouthing the appearance of a muffler is pretty strange considering the 1125 bikes are not exactly beautiful.

Beauty is in the eye of the blahblah. The 96 S1 is surely beautiful,..i think so is the CR. If you think its ugly then why would you want to uglify it even more ? Its like getting, as you say a homely girl next door, and saying : hell, it cant get worse with another 30 pimples.
