I saw this old thread in a search and I'm interested in knowing if anyone has tried this method of using CR gearing with and R swingarm. If you have done this, can you say what kind of results you got with it?

I believe a guy mike1125r with the buell exhaust thread did just that. He had one custom pulley made he was selling for 150.00. It was 5/8 bigger round than the stock one. I'm trying to make a chain conversion setup. I have parts on order to make the setup. Cross your fingers. I have access to a CNC machine shop so a custom shifter Idler pulley bracket might have to be made.

I have the cr gearing , cr belt , and custom pulley tensioner with stock swingarm. Check out the cnc aluminum pulley I made in the video

How much weight does that save?

In the previous thread I referenced someone had made the pulley and belt switch, but it appeared from the posts that he didn't change the idler pulley. Or, maybe I'm not understanding. He talks about decreasing pressure on the rear wheel bearings as a benefit of doing it his way. I'd like to find someone who made a similar switch.

The only way you can use the stock pulley, stock swing arm with the cr gearing is finding a belt the right size. I was looking all over for a belt before I made the pulley. I had no luck.

I looked at the post. I tested the cr gear, cr belt with the stock pulley. The belt fit will a very small amount of tension. Seemed very questionable!! So I took it for a ride the belt stretched and skipped teeth.
So from my experience and testing it wont work. Thats why I made the new pulley. It works great I've had no problems. Just so you know the bike pulls so much harder with the cr gearing!!! If your looking to keep up with liter bikes its a must mod!!!

The cr idler pulley is the same size as the R pulley.

I corrected mine with the race ecm you can change the values. I don't know if you can have your ecm flashed to correct the speedo. You can get a speedo healer that should work fine.
