They say there's a market for just about everything ... I'm thinking this item might prove to be the exception!

Hmmm - you could always leave the original on and fit that to the left hand side to even out the weight distribution....

Still, it's worth watching 'cause if it does sell we'll know there's a market for the "spare" ones we have...

I wouldnt laugh too much at the active intake solonoid. The yamaha r1 has adjustable velocity stacks. Why couldnt someone program this thing to make adjustable air flow at different map areas and cause more torque.I believe buell used it for noise emissions but why not use it as a throttle stop at different rpms which would cause better gains? They do it with dragcars.

The R1 2007 engine, with all-new variable-length intake trumpets and four-valve per cylinder design, provides plenty of muscle and pulls strong way past the five-figure mark on the tachometer. But the big news in the intake tract are the variable-height velocity stacks of the YCC-I system. The Yamaha Chip Controlled Intake optimizes performance by utilizing a long 140mm velocity stack that enhances torque at lower revs. Then, once past 10,400 rpm, the trumpets squeeze up next to the throttle bodies to produce a short 65mm length for accentuated top-end pull.
I wish the buel had something like this .I believe it would show significant gains.

Only if it comes with the oil spill and smoke screen option. Or the really rare spike strip dispensing option for the guaranteed get away.

Totally off topic, but Dentguy's reply made me think of a funny thing another rider said to me back when I was riding my '00 X1 Lightning.

Even as a Buell fan, I had to laugh. "Hey man, let me be in front. I don't want to run over the parts that might fall off that thing."

When I did my de-noid, I just used the resistor to disable the thing. I didn't want to mess with actually removing the hardware ... But if that thing's worth more than $30 I could probably be convinced to reconsider!

Millenium, denoiding and removing it took maybe 10 minutes from start to finish for me. It looks like more work than it really is.

Same here - Got the OEM style one from A S B. It took longer to take the trash to the curb that night than it did to install that thing! I'll eventually get around to taking the remaining H/W out ... Especially if there's a market for it ; )
