Progressive had me at $375 for the my Uly, quoted $1062 to add the 1125R, shopping elsewhere. By the way, 55 with a clean driving record.

I'm shocked at some of these quotes...

I pay $250/year for my 09 1125R and the same for my 07 Speed Triple. Same full coverage on both through State Farm.

I'm 35, not married, decent enough driving record, but have multiple policies w/ S.F. for my truck, house, life, and rental property... so I do get multi-line discounts, but they're not that huge.

Ditto on State Farm. My 1125r costs about $500 annually, Multistrada about $300 and my Liability only F650 Dakar $100. But I also have multiple vehicle and home policies with them. I'm 50 with no tickets or accidents (off the racetrack at least).

I'm 21.
2 old tickets: stop and speeding.
Brand New 2009 1125CR: full coverage
Insurance with AAA = $494 premium

$389 from State Farm, $2700 from progressive. I'm not sure which one to go with.

Just called State Farm. $662.07 for my Street Bob and $726.10 for the 1125r. OUCH! Will probably be sticking with Dairyland for $798.66 for both.

I fired Progressive in Nov.
They are such a rip off!
i insure my car: 1972 El Camino, and the 1125 for $1700 with AAA
Progressive was charging me $3300 just for my car! and they wanted 1k more for the bike.

Adding the 1125R to my Progressive policy (with 2 other bikes), same liability limits as my other bikes (towards the higher end), but with comp and collision on the Buell (my other bikes are too old to bother), and the Buell increases my policy by almost $1200.

Since I'm not riding the bike until spring and only need insurance for the dealer to file my paperwork, I went with Geico and took the minimums - $250 for the year, but I took the lowest down payment / most payments option and I'll cancel it as soon as the papers are filed. I'm picking the bike up on a trailer and storing it until spring, so I'll just take out a new policy (with limits I'm actually comfortable with) before I ride it on the street.

BTW, It's total bullshit that the dealer refuses to let me pick up the bike, on a trailer, and simply provide me with the C of O. They insist on titling and registering the bike before I can pick it up.

Abenormal, is the purchased paid in full or are you financing?

Xb12s_streetdemon, I looked on E-surance, they wanted $6k a year for my 1125CR alone, and they wouldn't let me add any other bikes to the policy.

i have dairyland.
2009 1125cr makes 3 bikes on the policy.
premium went from $719/ year, to $1023/ year.
i was somewhat pleased. (expecting more) the wife hit the roof.
it took some doing to get her "blessings" to buy the bike, then the insurance notice came. i thought i might have to spend a night or two out in the shop.
she's calmed down since october... premium comes due in march... i'll keep you posted.

Dairyland here too.

$300/year for my Uly (financed bike).

$380/year for my CR (also financed).

37 married male, adventurous driving record lol.

Our tubers - all paid for - are double-digit premiums.

All done - as mentioned ad nauseum in previous insurance threads all over badweb - through HD insurance. 800-832-4449.

Upon buying my 1125 cr, I was quoted a hair or two above $1300 by dairyland. My MSF basic riders course is within 3 years and I'm planning on taking the experienced riders course this Sunday...which brings me to my question - Do you all think/know if this will lower my premium? I'm still planning on taking it either way but just wanted a consensus on whether or not it was worth mentioning when I shop around to re-up my policy this Feb (also a recent credit union member, so hopefully I can get some mileage out of that).

I recently went through and redid all my policies and shuffled things around (all with Dairyland).

'07 Uly & '09 CR = $127 a year (liability only)
'04 BMW R & '09 BMW RT = $576 a year (full coverage)

I'd go broke if I had full coverage on all four bikes and two cars.

This is for two riders both over 40 with no tickets (but I am surprised they didn't jack up my rates since they spent nearly $14,000 on the RT this past year repairing it after I hit a tar spot at 65 MPH and both me and the bike went tumbling down the highway).

Pistole_pete, you will see a little break, but it won't be a game changer. I have the discounts and it really didn't make a huge difference. I forget the percentage.

XB12s is right, I'm in the Chicago area and we are down for a good 3-5 months (depending on the year) so the rates are reflected in that.

HD ins is a great broker. Easy to work with and I've never had better rates outside of them other than a brief stint with State Farm when I had my SV650. I'll quit beating the drum. : )

What does that medical cover anyway? I've turned it down thinking it was irrelevant if I had my own medical coverage. Is that correct thinking?

Xb12s_streetdemon, yeah it covers the medical. I was thinking of 86-ing the medical when I renew but given that I'll be laid off in March and my health insurance status will be up in the air, I'll probably keep it.

Paid in full. They first said it was a legal requirement and I called BS, then they insisted it was a Harley policy requirement.

I still get the winter discount from Dairyland. I guess they figure that if I'm crazy enough to ride year around, they'll let me. I'm checking the ice conditions now trying to figure out if I can pull out the CR in 20 degree weather.

If I starve my 7 month old son and let my 4 year old daughter walk to school 7 miles. And start pimp'n my wife. And selling yayo to pregnat mothers. I could swing the $3grand. But who wants to do all that work.

Progressive prorates the winter, I guess they just charge you in the summer for it. They sent a postcard that said something like they don't charge for the winter, that way you can enjoy it on the occasional nice day. Oh well, I haven't taken a cage to work in over 2 months! : D

I'm feeling really old now, just rang to insure mine and my current company won't do the Buell because it's NOT modified (my old bike was heavily modded).

So I did some shopping and it's come back at $234 (US)which is really cheap, therefor I must be old...
