I've been calling around and can't find one. Anyone know where one of these elusive seats may be found?

I am sure you can get some from the manufacturers like corbin, etc. I have heard that you cannot buy the Buell aftermarket seat anymore. All gone, or sold out. I have been looking. REX

Have you used their saddles before? They look really nice. Has anyone put the Corbin XB seat on their 1125r? I read somewhere, maybe on this board, that there are fitment issues.

I have heard nothing but good things about the Baldwin seats. That Baldwin guy owns several Buells, so he better understands our needs than Crapbin. The Crapbin seat for the Firebolt will work if you modify it a little.

I have a corbin. They are a little weird about shipping you a seat not specifically made for the 1125R. I simply ordered the Firebolt version, removed the two front bumpers and shaved down the other bumpers to fit my bike. It's more comfortable than the stock and was not a bad choice considering the lack of Buell custom seats on the market.

Those Baldwin seats are really nice looking. Went to the Corbin site and saw there is a seat listed specifically for the 1125r. Looks really good.

Are these the only 2 choices out there?

Corbin and Baldwin.

Also any opinions if a high handlebar kit is added and then you install a corbin or baldwin.

thanks in advance

Dave,

You could also put some lower pegs on it. Ulysses pegs, XB pegs, and others will lower the position 1". It made a HUGE difference for me. I have CR with the high bars and custom seat.

Now, I can't attest to the comfort vs. the clubman bars as my bike had the high bars installed.

However, the pegs made a much bigger difference in overall comfort than the seat. I installed the Uly pegs, BTW.

I know people who either love or hate their Corbins. I would call Baldwin and Corbin and discuss options for making a higher seat and also the options for density of foam.

FWIW.

I've got the Buell touring seat,(1" higher) lightning pegs,(1" lower) and the high bars,(1" higher).
The bike is sooooo comfortable now, It almost feels better than the Uly.

When I got my bike at McHenry the sales manager Chris mentioned a guy locally that takes stock saddles and puts gel inserts into them. He said they look completely stock by are more comfortable. His thought was the price was similar to the Buell custom seat. I didn't get the name or number of the guy though.

Go here and you can find a dealer for Pro Pad gel inserts.

http://www.thepropad.com/index.php

I have Pro Pad gel inserts in the saddles of my Buells along with some other custom work. They make an incremental improvement. If you have a short inseam, they are the best way to get improvement without increasing seat height IMHO. There are other improvements beyond just a gel insert though.

A really comfortable seat can totally change your riding experience for the better. You go from thinking about how much your butt hurts to how much fun you are having riding your motorbike. The Buell factory custom (good luck finding one) is an improvement, a gel insert makes for an improvement, foam firmness based on your weight is another improvement. It all comes to how much discomfort is your wallet going to make your butt bear.

Gowindward, I went from the stock Dyna seat to the Mustang saddle and it was night and day. I can go all day and not even think about the seat. I think a good seat can be one of the best splurges you make along with a good comfy helmet. Those two things can take your mind off discomfort and put it on the road ahead. It's a win win, but it can come with a hefty price. I'm willing to spend on those two things.
