Try a set of Metzeler Z6 sport-touring tires. Plenty of grip for the street and they last a long time. I got almost 12,000 miles out of my last Z6 rear.
I'm on Michelin Pilot Road 2s now and I find them to be inferior, particularly in the wet.
I will be switching back to Metzeler Z6s. |

Chameleon, how aggressive can you get with those Z6s? The harder compounds don't usually have as much grab. I also heard they changed their manufacturing facilities to Brazil and they aren't as good as they used to be. Any insight? |

Well, I don't know how exactly to relate to you the degree or style of my riding...
I haven't done trackdays yet, so I can't say how they hold up to such use.
I've seen 160mph (indicated) several times.
I usually have about 1/4" chicken strips on the front and less than 1/4" on the rear. And I ride year-round as long as the snow's not sticking.
My wife enjoys when I pull wheelies with her on the back almost as much as I enjoy doing them myself alone... Even in the wet.
During my last group ride up to St Helens with other sport-bike riders, all imports, the only thing walking away from me in the long 150mph+ sweepers was the newest model Hayabusa.

Chameleon, i can safely say I won't be doing any wheelies with the wife on board, and most likely not even without. Thanks for the testimonial on the Metzelers. Mine has 1000 on it, but they go fast. Would like to have a slightly higher mileage tire since I don't do track days or any real hard riding. Mostly touring. |

Then you should definitely try the Metzeler Z6 Interacts.
We just put a set on my wife's V-Rod VRSCAW and they're great even on her big, fast, HOG. They've got a ton of grip; I swear the front end felt like it was about to lift off yesterday morning... I've been riding her bike since my 1125R is in the shop to address a few minor issues. |

It's good to know you have it when you want/need it. I will definitely file that for the future. Heck, maybe I'll try a set on the Dyna. It needs some soon. (if they make them in that size)

Ya know, I just realized that I mis-stated something...
We put a set of Metzeler ME880 tires on my wife's V-Rod VRSCAW. Not the Z6s.
Her bike has a big fat rear tire (stock)... Here's the tire sizes:
F: 120/70ZR19
R: 240/40R18 |

I checked my Dyna's sizes and the Z6 doesn't come in that size. The ME880s are in my size. I had those on a Road King I used to have. They were fantastic tires. Very smooth and handled great in rain. Metzelers are great tires. |
