i was wondering if anyone has wrapped there exhaust on there cr. i think i understand the benefits i mostly am interested in the appearance i luv the way it looks if anyone has any info or pics of this it would be much appreciated. | ||

wrapping the exhaust will help with any radiant heat issues local to the pipes, and some like the looks. Kirb | ||

Can someone tell me the better wrap or are they all the same? Have never done this either and I think the heat issue would be nice to keep under wraps  | ||

As others have said, it helps keep the heat "inside" the exhaust tubing, rather than radiating out and soaking the right side radiator and water pump in excess heat. Along with your leg and the frame...or should I say gas tank.. DEI has a new wrap that they call their Titanium wrap. It's supposed to work just a little better than their old wrap. During my current valve adjustment work, I'm redoing my headers with this new wrap. By removing the rear header section, it's much easier to properly wrap the entire rear section. I'm also covering the full inside of the frame with their adhesive backed sheet material, rather than the small patches the factory installs. Mike | ||

i used the screamin eagle stuff because i got a discount on it. then i sprayed it with high temp paint which covered the metal zip ties etc. i didnt try to wrap the area that the muffler springs attach so I just sprayed that area high temp black also. |
