I am going to take the passenger pegs off but I am not sure what to do with the vent hose. I'm hoping you guys can show me what you did and give me a good idea.

Same here. My '09 CR was built in Dec '08 and has the fuel vent exiting on the left passenger peg bracket.

I guess we just need to find a way to reroute it without splicing or extending it.

I rerouted mine to the other side and zip tied it just in front of the rider peg. No cutting or extending involved.

put a canister in the system and that line will be totally eliminated
