Now that I have an exhaust that does not foul my wheel I have been stroking out on the scunge and it's pernicious. Any suggestions for a fast acting product that does not require tedious inch by inch polishing? I've tried brake cleaner, carb cleaner, engine cleaner, S100 total wash, S100 polish and probably a few other household products. The S100 polish (in the red tube) is the only thing that even budges the scunge but it's taking a lot of work. Thanks in advance. | ||

You may try oven cleaner. I know it sounds harsh but it has been used effectively on some nasty exhaust system stains. As always, test on a small area first. | ||

Spray with WD-40. Wipe off grunge. Spray with Simple Green or equivalent. Wipe off WD-40. KeS | ||

S-100 has a gel wheel cleaner that I use that works great. Spray on a cool dry wheel and let sit for a few, then run a brush over it and hose off best stuff iv used so far. | ||

This has been talked about before. There are certain wheel cleaners that will mess up the finish. And some that won't armor all wheel cleaner is one that won't! It works wounders with a soft brush. | ||

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll give some of them a try when the snow melts. I am leaving for Mecca in the morning (WI)and must leave my babies for a week as I visit the rest of my tribe. So Merry Christmas in advance  | ||

I use Westley's Bleche Wite. It's normally used to whiten white walls and white letters on tires. U should be able to get it at many auto parts stores and Wal Mart. I spray in on the dry dirty wheel. I let it sit for approx. 10 seconds, then scrub it with a sponge. Wash it off right away. My wheels come out very clean and looking like new. I don't know what it will do to the wheel finish if left on too long that's why I don't leave it on but 10 seconds. I've used this stuff for years on tires and other stuff with great results. |
