i was wondering if the slip on is all i need to buy for my bike, i'm assuming that it will come with the pipe that connects to the header can someone tell me if that's true. There is no way i can afford the full system but i don't understand why the slip on is only 500.00 and the full system is 2000.00 if anyone who has installed the slip on could fill me in that would be great.

Yes as with everything a tune would help but it works fine without it if your looking to add noise. It comes with everything, sounds awesome and goes on the bike in two seconds. Look at american sportbike website its less on there website than $500 also.

Slip on looks great, sounds good at speed, really loud even with the "quiet core insert". My AFV have not really drifted. front 89.5 and rear is 90. I have the insert with cone pointed to muffler exit. Seems to run as well as stock but I am planning to buy a tune (one sick biatch) in the next few weeks

cool thanks guys, when you say really loud that's a pretty relative term that's my biggest fear is that it will be really loud, would you say that its louder than a hindle or a vance and hines pipe on a rice burner.

The FMF Apex slip-on will add noise and lightness. : )

The box comes with almost everything you need(provided they remember the springs).

Other than the hand tools you'll need a tube of high heat silicon adhesive as per the instructions. This supposedly helps with the seal but also acts as a lubricant when slipping the pipes together.

FWIW I used PermaTex high heat gray.

Oh, and I don't think it's too loud without inserts.

really loud at idle is when I notice. It sounds good if you like loud V twins.... which I do! Most people do not. Such as neighbors, LEO, the cars next to me when lane splitting... etc. My other bike is a GSXR-750 with full yoshi system and I can sneak up on people. My other bike before the gixxer was an XB12R with micron full system that was loud but also way more mellow at idle. Lumpy sounding.

the helicon is not lumpy

Im love'in it.... my neighbors... not so much
