i just put one on with 118 teeth but maybe could have gone with 117 for a bigger sprocket variety. i ordered a 120 and took 2 off before i put the riveted master link on.

Can I ask why a longer swingarm? Are you drag racing it? Otherwise isn't that like putting 22 inch rims on your Ferrari?

Anyway, even if someone has done the chain conversion with the same sprockets that isn't going to be much help because of the different swingarm lengths.

Littlebutquick, aka Joe, is definitely going to be drag racing it! He's running 1/4mile times in the high 9's on the stock wheelbase.

Awesome. I would put myself on my head trying to do that with the stock wheelbase.

I'm sure his times have a lot to do with skilled technique.

as far as mods go, the biggest things i know of include strapping the front end and running the Twin Motorcycles torque hammer exhaust custom map.

He's told me he runs just enough gas to keep the low fuel light from coming on and I know he's removed the passenger foot rests and probably anything else not necessary.

Joe, anything I'm missing?

Replace the stock battery and subframe and shed another 10-12 lbs.

Hell if the bike is dedicated drag bike, remove the stator and run a total loss system, just manually charge the battery after runs. That can reduce a good amount of rotating mass.

there's already a lightweight battery made by Speed Cell; I know they even mention a battery available for bikes that have no charging systems. I have no experience with the battery and can't say if it is any good... just that I know it exists.

The Speedcell is fantastic, and only a little over 2lbs. : )

They offer them now with a quick disconnect connector, so you can easily swap it out.

Google chain lenght formula...I don't know how to post a link...you need centre to centre distance between the sprockets and tooth count for each sprocket...and pitch size I believe.

I have no idea what pitch chain you run...but I will tell you based on my years of dragracing...there is no better/stronger chain than an EK 630MS. I normally ran a full season on the same chain with a motor that put down 225 hp...the weight of it will eat some ET, but It won't easily break.

Hey littlebutquick, what rpm/gear are you crossing the traps in? The CR gearing and swingarm might help.

Erik will be selling the Buell lithium-ion battery. This was originally developed in a slightly smaller form for the Griffin motocross project, which would have been in production during 2008 if Harley hadn't canceled it. The motocross battery weighed under one pound and would start a 450 more than 50 times consecutively without breathing hard or requiring recharging. The 1125 battery weighs two pounds, and was used in the 1125RR every time it ran last year. It was supposed to be announced as a racing accessory next month at the Buell/Harley Winter Dealer Meeting. I think I know what the price will be, but until Erik sets it officially I can't mention any numbers. The nice thing about this battery is that it resulted from a multi-year development effort, and went through extensive shaker testing for reliability. The dimensions are very small: 5 3/4 x 2 3/4 inch length and width, and 3 1/4 inches tall. Terminals are on the opposite ends of the pack. The original intent was to have a slightly larger pack than this as production on the Barracuda II, but the Barracuda II came under the 420 pound wet-minus-fuel curb weight target without it, and the lithium-ion technology is still expensive for a bike that would have been thousands of dollars less costly than a standard 1198. It would definitely have been on the street-legal homologation version of the 1190, which would have been the lightest open-class race replica by a wide margin.

Wow- Anony, you are dropping some really cool tidbits of info.

1- Griffin- first time I've heard that name for it.

2- If the yellow bike was the Barracuda II, what the heck was the Barracuda I?

3- Street homologation version of the 1190. So this is a different bike from the Barracuda II?

Wow.

Well played Anony ; )

We will be needing you fine folks around in the future so I will go with a WWII analogy:

"Us surrender? Aw, nuts!"
General Tony McAuliffe

Oddly enough that line was uttered on the 22nd of December.

Don't stop with that WWII analogy...

"They have us surrounded... the poor bastards."

(Don't surround the 101st airborne division... damn dangerous business, that)
