I have a Brand New HR1 Riot for sale it will only fit (may 08) or earlier. Mine is a (june 08) headpipes wont seal or connect good I payed 555 with shipping will let it go for 460 ill pay shipping in the continental us. Call me 813-426-2829 ask for Jack. | ||

Two exhaust systems have been used on the RR: The FMF titanium system, and the Buell factory pipe in stainless steel with a Ti muffler can skin. The FMF is about 5 pounds lighter, but is extremely loud and doesn't produce as nice a band as the Buell pipe, or as much peak power. The two RRs that raced at New Jersey both used the factory pipe. There is a new version of the Buell pipe developed that makes even more peak power, but has only been tested on the dyno at this point. It requires (and allows) a significant repackaging of radiators and oil coolers, all planned for the 2010 Superbike. Presumably, all these new parts, assuming they all work on the track, will be available from Erik Buell Racing LLC in early 2010. | ||

I would say maybe no, but that will be for Erik to decide. EBR is not a street vehicle manufacturer now, with EPA and DOT regulations hanging over them. However, don't be a Power Ranger fag... Also, this system is expensive! | ||

No worries, Anony, it wouldn't be for street use. I'm considering trading my Harley for another 1125 and setting it up strictly for track use (thus saving my CR for the street). I'm looking to do plenty of track days, but I'm not really interested in going racing at this point. Nice to know EBR may be willing to provide some trick track-oriented parts for those of us with no real need for a race license. | ||

I'm running the insert with the cone facing into the muffler. It's still plenty loud even with the insert installed, but the insert definitely makes a difference. I installed it the other way briefly (facing the mid pipe; the quietest setting) just to try it. It was noticeably quieter that way, especially on the highway, but it was still significantly louder than the stock can. I preferred the tone of the exhaust note on the louder setting, so I went back to that. In the end, the difference between the two settings wasn't enough to justify the quieter setting in my mind. Any sensitive neighbors who may be annoyed by the louder setting probably wouldn't find the quieter setting any less annoying. All that being said, the FMF slip-on is a great sounding exhaust. The bike is much more fun to ride now that it doesn't sound like a lawn mower. | ||

I have a full FMF system on my 1125R, and was told @ Jennings GP last week it was 106db! Track limit is 104db. I'll have to quieten it down to go back! | ||

In speaking to Erik, there are likely to be no more restrictions on the sales of exhausts and ECUs than by Yoshimura -- none, in other words. An independent aftermarket shop can sell racing goods as racing goods, and rely upon their customers to use them appropriately. A vehicle manufacturer has to be more careful not to cross the letter of EPA regulations. | ||

I hope this rumor about EBR is true. I have a dedicated track bike. It's not street legal, it's not run on the street, it has not tags, license or any of that stuff. And, not being able to get "off highway" parts is a P.I.T.A. just because some have abused it and used them in a fashion against the law. I could really, really, really use a race ECM about right now, since my track bike needs a new ECM and Hardly Davidson has decided to put them on backorder. | ||
